The latest installment in the popular Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6, is generating a lot of excitement from both longtime fans and new players. Like previous games, it features gorgeous open-world environments, amazing cars, and both solo and multiplayer racing. A recent preview shown by the developers at Playground Games during the Xbox Developer Direct has only increased anticipation for the game’s release.

Forza Horizon 6 returns to the Horizon Festival, challenging players to become a racing legend in a brand new location: Japan. The game features a beautifully detailed recreation of Japan, with realistic touches like cherry blossoms that react to speeding cars. Players can explore open-world roads based on real locations, including Tokyo. Developers are calling this the largest Forza Horizon game to date.

This Release Is Just Around The Corner

I’m so excited – we don’t have to wait much longer to drive around Japan! Forza Horizon 6 is coming out on May 19, 2026, and it’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and even through the cloud. It’s mostly a digital release, but thankfully there will be a physical copy for Xbox Series X/S on launch day, which is great for collectors like me!

The game is planned to release on PlayStation 5 in late 2026, and you can add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store today.

Is Forza Horizon 6 On Game Pass?

Yes, Day One Xbox Game Pass Title!

The Forza Horizon 6 FAQ states that players with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass will get the standard edition of the game on launch day at no extra cost. They can play the full game on Xbox Series X/S (for Ultimate members), PC, and via Xbox Cloud Gaming on their preferred devices.

Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can buy an upgrade to get the Premium Edition of the game. This upgrade includes perks like up to four days of Early Access, starting May 15th.

Standard, Deluxe, And Premium Editions

You can choose from three different versions of Forza Horizon 6, plus a bundle of extra content. All versions include the complete game with over 550 cars and full access to the main features. If you buy the Premium Add-Ons Bundle with either the Standard or Deluxe edition, it will give you everything included in the Premium edition.

To get the complete experience – including four days of early access, special cars and customization options, the Italian Passion Car Pack, and other benefits – you can either buy the Premium edition or upgrade to it. Buying the Premium edition also gives you access to the first two expansions that will be released for Forza Horizon 6.

Steam lists the Standard edition for $69.99, the Deluxe edition for $99.99, and the Premium edition for $119.99.

If you buy any version of the game before May 19th, you’ll receive a special pre-order bonus: the pre-tuned, exclusive Ferrari J50. It’s currently unknown whether PlayStation 5 players will also be able to get this bonus when the game launches on PlayStation.

Cars Currently Announced For Forza Horizon 6

Around 550 Cars Are Expected, Including Some Returning Favorites

Set in Japan, the game features over 550 real cars, including popular Japanese domestic market (JDM) classics, letting you cruise the country with authentic style.

You can find a complete list of announced cars on the official Forza Horizon 6 website. This list is based on the cars revealed during the Xbox Developer Direct broadcast on January 22nd, and the developers plan to add even more vehicles to it in the coming months.

The game features a lot of popular cars returning from previous titles, including special “Forza Edition” vehicles, and cars with significant performance upgrades. Players will have access to over 550 cars to collect and personalize when the game launches, with more additions planned through future updates and downloadable content. The game’s cover showcases two new vehicles: the 2025 GR GT Prototype and the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser.
