Back to the Future star is done calling you “butthead”

Tom Wilson, the actor who played Biff in Back to the Future, has decided to stop performing his usual routine with fans, including calling them names like “butthead.” He feels he’s been doing it too much.

Man, Back to the Future is a classic, right? I think a big reason it’s still so awesome after all these years is the cast – they were just perfect for their roles. Seriously, you couldn’t have asked for a better group of actors!

Michael J. Fox is best known for playing Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd is hilarious as Doc Brown, and Tom Wilson perfectly portrays the over-the-top villain, Biff Tannen.

Biff tormented George McFly, constantly bullying him and calling him names like “butthead.” However, the actor who played Biff now regrets using that kind of language in his personal life.

Tom Wilson says “I’m not gonna call anyone ‘butthead’ anymore

In an interview on Michael Rosenbaum’s ‘Inside of You’ podcast, Wilson explained that he spent 25 years trying to please everyone who approached him. However, he recently decided to stop being so accommodating, saying, ‘I’ve been generous with my time, but after 25 years, I’m not going to be rude or confrontational anymore.’

He’s decided to change how he interacts with fans in photos. He says he’s entering a phase where he’ll politely pose and smile for pictures instead of playfully hitting or roughhousing with people. He acknowledges that many fans actually expect him to act tough and jokingly call them names or playfully push their family members, but he’s moving away from that.

He explained that playing such a famous character meant losing a sense of self. People didn’t want to connect with him, but with the character, treating him like a collectible item – constantly seeking autographs, recordings, or videos to complete their ‘collection.’ He preferred being seen and appreciated as a regular person, rather than an object of obsession.
