McDonald’s reveals new “Changeables” Happy Meal toys decades after original release

McDonald’s announced a new set of Changeables Happy Meal toys, which will be available starting January 27th, through posts on social media and promotional pictures.

On January 21st, the fast food chain teased a new collaboration, hinting at something arriving with Happy Meals on January 27th with a short video and the message, ‘1.27 something from deep in the multiverse is coming to ur Happy Meal.’ They later revealed the full artwork for the collection, announcing the launch date and saying, ‘The Changeables want to show u their world 1.27.’

So, McDonald’s dropped some pics of these new Happy Meal toys, and they’re actually pretty cool! They change from these box shapes into the characters themselves. Each one has a made-up name, a little ‘fun fact’ about them, and a catchy phrase. The cards say they’re only available at certain McDonald’s restaurants for a limited time – and you only get one with each Happy Meal, while they last, so I gotta hurry if I want to collect them all!

McDonald’s hasn’t announced how long the new ‘Changeables’ Happy Meal toy promotion will last, or if they plan to release more figures beyond the ones already revealed. Currently, they’ve only stated that the toys will be available starting January 27th.

The Changeables were popular toys first released in McDonald’s Happy Meals in the late 1980s. These unique toys could transform from common McDonald’s food – like burgers, fries, and milkshakes – into robot characters. After decades of requests from fans, McDonald’s is now bringing them back!
