Kenny Omega, a former AEW World Champion and executive vice president, is a passionate video game enthusiast. He’s well-known for competing in video game tournaments and leagues, often going up against professional gamers and other wrestlers, and he’s now taking his gaming hobby to a new level.
Alex, also known as “The Cleaner,” is now part of the Street Fighter 6 roster. Omega revealed he performed the motion capture work for the character, sharing photos of himself in the motion capture suit.
I’m thrilled to share that I did the motion capture for Alex in Street Fighter 6! I’m really excited for everyone to see him – he’s always been my favorite character. And seeing the new DLC trailer felt amazing – it was like watching myself!
The trailer shows Alex replicating Kenny Omega’s signature moves, including the V-Trigger knee strike and his finishing move, the One-Winged Angel. It’s also clear that Alex has adopted Omega’s characteristic posture and fighting style.
Alex is coming to Street Fighter 6 as a downloadable character in Year 3, joining Sagat and C. Viper who were added in 2025. Players can expect Alex to be playable starting March 17, 2026. In addition to the game updates, a live-action Street Fighter movie is planned for release this year, featuring stars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, and Noah Centineo.
In addition to revealing details about Street Fighter 6, Omega wrestled and won a match on Wednesday’s Dynamite against Josh Alexander. This was his first individual match since losing to Kazuchika Okada at AEW All In Texas.
