Amazon Game Studios has announced that the game New World: Aeternum will no longer be playable after January 31, 2027. It is no longer available for purchase.
Following a recent update that announced the end of new content, the game has now been removed from sale. However, the update also clarified that the game wouldn’t be immediately shut down. The current season, Nighthaven, has been extended until January 31, 2027, which is when the game will officially go offline.

A few months ago, we told you, our players, that the Nighthaven update would be the last major content release for New World. We promised to share more details about our future plans then, and today we’re following up with an update and being open about what’s next for the game.
New World: Aeternum will no longer be available for purchase starting January 15, 2026. However, players who already own the game will be able to continue playing until the servers are shut down completely on January 31, 2027. The current Nighthaven season will be extended to last until the servers go offline.
Thank you to all our players for your incredible dedication and passion. We truly appreciate the time you’ve spent with us building and shaping the world of Aeternum. We’ve created something special together, and while it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re so grateful for the opportunity to have shared this journey with our community.

How long will I be able to play New World: Aeternum ?
If you already own the game, you’ll be able to keep playing until January 31, 2027. After that date, the game servers will shut down for good, and you won’t be able to play New World: Aeternum on any device.
Will I still be able to purchase in-game currency (e.g., Marks of Fortune) for use in the game?
Starting July 20, 2026, the in-game store will close, and players will no longer be able to buy Marks of Fortune or any other items.
Are refunds available for Marks of Fortune purchases?
No, refunds are not available for Marks of Fortune purchases.
Will I still be able to buy the game?
No, as of today the game is delisted and no longer available for purchase.
Can I still install New World: Aeternum if I had previously purchased the game?
If you bought New World: Aeternum before, you can download and play it again.
I recently bought the game, can I get a refund?

Will there be any additional bug fixes, server merges, etc. while the game remains online?
We won’t be adding any new features or combining servers anymore, but we’ll keep an eye on any technical issues and performance to make sure the game runs as well as possible as we move towards its end.

World bosses and bonus weeks will continue until the servers shut down.
