‘Black Rabbit’ Confirms Anna’s Fate In Netflix Series Finale – And It Feels Undeserved

The Netflix series *Black Rabbit* concluded with a heartbreaking and seemingly unfair fate for Anna. This new crime drama, written by the screenwriter of *King Richard*, Zach Baylin, follows brothers Jake and Vince Friedken as their lives fall apart after reconnecting. However, their troubles don’t just affect them – others are caught in the fallout as well.

Abbey Lee plays Anna, a bartender at Jake’s Black Rabbit, and she’s one of the people hurt by Jake’s terrible choices. She’s found dead, and the details surrounding her death aren’t revealed until later in the series.

I’m really excited to share that the whole *Black Rabbit* series is now streaming on Netflix! It stars Jude Law and Jason Bateman, and the story centers around two brothers who reconnect after a long time apart – and their reunion leads to some seriously good fortune for both of them.

What Happened to Anna In Black Rabbit Netflix?

Although Anna’s death is a significant presence throughout the *Black Rabbit* series, the show doesn’t reveal the full story of what happened to her until the very last episode.

Throughout the show, Abbey Lee’s character, Anna, is presented as a small but essential part of the operations at the Black Rabbit, a high-end New York club and restaurant. This establishment, owned by Jake Friedken (played by Jude Law), is a hub for the city’s most influential people.

In this fictional New York, a large Manhattan building is the center of power – a place where musicians, athletes, and influential people make important deals. But it’s the work of many ordinary people, like Anna, that keeps everything running smoothly.

Jake is desperately trying to save his business, even as it faces collapse. He’s using funds from a risky source, the Black Rabbit, and accepting investments from people he doesn’t fully trust, all while searching for a way to escape his predicament. This situation forces him to overlook some unethical activities.

Many important meetings happen on the third floor of the lavish social club. That’s where Sope Dirisu, known as Wes – a famous musician and co-owner of the club – hosts New York City’s most influential people every evening.

This is where Anna’s troubles really start. During one of Wes’ gatherings, a character named Lee accuses one of his guests, Jules (played by John Ales), of sexual assault.

Jake and his colleagues at Black Rabbit dismiss this idea, maintaining the long-standing, exclusive ‘boys club’ atmosphere that’s been present on that floor for years.

Finally, Anna decides to tell a reporter her side of the story. This happens at a time when Jake is deeply in debt and some of the people he owes money to are starting to sense he’s in trouble.

Jules’ associate, Campbell, attempts to resolve the situation by offering Anna a large amount of money and a flight ticket, hoping she’ll accept the bribe and leave everything behind.

Lee agrees, choosing to leave town and put the whole situation behind her rather than confront powerful people in New York. It seems like Anna might finally get a happy ending, but unfortunately, that isn’t what happens.

Instead, Jake’s brother Vince (played by Jason Bateman, known for his role in *Zootopia 2*) signs the death certificate of the former bartender while being pressured by Junior, the son of crime boss Joe Mancuso. Joe is one of the people pursuing Jake and Vince because they haven’t repaid their loans.

Taking advantage of the tense situation, Junior bullies Vince. But when Vince mentions Anna’s trouble, Junior-a powerful figure in New York’s criminal underworld-sees it as a risk to his father’s interests and starts targeting the former Black Rabbit employee, who was previously considered safe.

The story builds to this really intense scene where Junior actually breaks into Anna’s house. It’s terrifying – she’s hiding in the bathroom, bracing against the door, and he’s trying to get in. But in the struggle, she hits her head, and it’s instantly fatal. Honestly, it felt like a really unfair and shocking way for her character to end – she didn’t deserve that at all.

Anna’s story continues beyond her immediate fate. While she doesn’t live to see it, the series concludes with Jules being arrested for attacking the previous bartender, Vince being found dead, and Jake leaving the Black Rabbit for good.

Anna’s fate is a heartbreaking result of years of bad choices and negligence at Black Rabbit. She was an ordinary New Yorker who tragically suffered because of the poor decisions made by others, including Jules, Vince, and Jake.
