Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, shared that he had planned to film a Joe Rogan Podcast episode at the Pyramids in Egypt, but the plans fell through due to unforeseen circumstances.
MrBeast has achieved massive success with his YouTube channel, becoming widely recognized. Beyond YouTube, he’s expanded his reach with a show on Amazon Prime Video, appearances on talk shows, and even roles in commercials for the NFL and during the Super Bowl.
Donaldson was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience in June 2024, where he discussed his life, charitable work, online popularity, and a variety of other topics. He, like other guests on the show, hopes to return for another episode.
That event nearly happened and would have been Joe Rogan’s most impressive episode yet, taking him out of the studio and all the way to Egypt.
MrBeast planned JRE Podcast episode on Egyptian Pyramids
So, I was chatting on Steve-O’s podcast, and I was telling him about when I finally got to film at the Pyramids in Egypt – it took a full 100 hours! I actually had plans to record something with Joe Rogan while I was there, but it didn’t quite work out.
He said they almost recorded a podcast with Joe Rogan at the top of a pyramid, telling the Jackass star about how close they’d gotten.
He wasn’t able to attend, and it just didn’t work out with his schedule. I couldn’t reschedule the event because those specific dates were crucial – you have to take advantage of the opportunity when it arises. I honestly thought the whole situation was pretty amusing.

The YouTuber pointed out that Rogan doesn’t often travel outside the country, leading him to question whether the scheduling issue was a genuine reason for the conflict.
He thought it would be amazing to record a podcast from the very top of the pyramid – imagining them sitting at a normal desk on the tip. Since you can’t actually climb to the top, they’d have needed a helicopter to get up there.
Donaldson stated that Egypt had approved the plan after three years of talks, but ultimately, it wasn’t successful for Rogan.
