So, even though Stranger Things seems to be really over with the last episode, a lot of us fans are buzzing about a possible secret installment! There’s this whole theory going around – people are calling it ‘Conformity Gate’ – and it’s got everyone wondering if there’s more to the story than we thought.

The rumor turned out to be false, and Episode 9 didn’t release on its expected date of January 7, 2026.

Fans can still look forward to one more Stranger Things release: a documentary offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Season 5.

One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 release date & time

The behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Stranger Things 5, “One Last Adventure,” will be available on Netflix starting Monday, January 12th, at midnight Pacific Time / 3 AM Eastern Time.

If you aren’t in America, the two-hour doc will drop at these times in the following territories:

  • 8am UK
  • 9am Central European Time
  • 10am Eastern European Time
  • 1.30pm India
  • 5pm Tokyo
  • 7pm Sydney

Martina Radwan, director of ‘One Last Adventure,’ expressed her gratitude to the Duffer Brothers for allowing her to document their process, calling it an ‘incredible journey.’

It was a real honor and so much fun to spend a year working on set with everyone. Seeing them create this show we all love, up close and as it happened, was a fantastic experience. I wish I’d been able to go back and film the first four seasons, too!

The actors and the crew, many of whom I’d worked with for years, were incredibly welcoming. They generously shared their individual and shared experiences from ten years of making movies together.

The Duffer brothers consistently challenge expectations and motivate those around them – including me – to improve. Their approach to filmmaking, and the show itself, embodies everything I admire about the art form.

What is the Stranger Things documentary about?

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I’m so excited about “One Last Adventure”! It gives a behind-the-scenes look at how Season 5 came together. You get to see the Duffer brothers working on the story, and then it walks you through everything that went into making the season – from the initial scripts and how they figured out the budget, to building the sets, choreographing the stunts, and all the incredible makeup and special effects. It really seems like a complete look at how the show was made.

After ten years of captivating audiences, Stranger Things is back for its last season. The documentary One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5 offers an in-depth look at how the final season was made, and how the show – and its creation – impacted the cast and crew.

Ross and Matt Duffer, the creators, shared that they grew up dreaming of being filmmakers in Durham, North Carolina, but Hollywood seemed out of reach. That changed when they watched documentaries about the making of The Lord of the Rings, which showed them the practical side of filmmaking. Seeing even the stress Peter Jackson faced during production solidified their ambition – that’s what they wanted for themselves.

As physical copies of shows and movies have become less common, the detailed stories about how they’re made have also faded away. We wanted to revive that tradition, and ‘One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5’ – wonderfully filmed and directed by Martina Radwan – is our way of doing so.
