This year, Martin Scorsese’s classic crime film *Casino* is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special 4K Blu-ray release in a limited-edition Steelbook. You can pre-order it now from Amazon and Walmart, although the official release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Casino 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Steelbook Bonus Features
This steelbook includes several bonus features, but they aren’t exclusive to this release – you can also find them on the existing 4K Blu-ray of Casino. However, they’re still a great way to learn more about how the movie was made. Here’s a list of what’s included:
- Interviews with director Martin Scorsese and actors Sharon Stone, author Nicholas Pileggi, and others
- The History Channel documentary History Alive: True Crime Authors – Casino, featuring Nicholas Pileggi
- Vegas and the Mob featurette
- A selection of deleted scenes
Martin Scorsese’s *Casino* tells the story of Sam “Ace” Rothstein, played by Robert De Niro, a professional gambler brought in to manage the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas for the Chicago Outfit. The film, based on Nicholas Pileggi’s book *Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas*, covers a decade of Sam’s life, from 1973 to 1983, and his involvement with the mafia, scams, and federal investigations. While it didn’t initially receive as much acclaim as some of Scorsese’s other work, *Casino* has since gained recognition and is now considered one of his best films.
Looking to expand your mob movie collection? Several great Blu-rays are available, including 4K versions of classics like The Godfather ($19.59, originally $26), The Godfather Part II ($18.63, originally $26), and Scarface ($16.52). If you’re okay with standard Blu-ray, The Godfather Collection ($34.77, originally $42) includes Parts I and II, plus the third film – which isn’t as popular, but still enjoyable for most fans.
If you enjoy crime dramas like The Godfather, consider adding Scarface – Gold Edition to your 4K Blu-ray collection for just $15. The 1983 film stars Al Pacino as a powerful Miami crime boss and is a classic of the genre. Another fantastic option is HBO’s The Sopranos, a six-season series often called one of the greatest TV shows of all time – it’s credited with helping to launch a new era of high-quality television. You can find The Sopranos: The Complete Series on Blu-ray for $63.38 or on DVD for $55.
And over on DVD, you can snag Sopranos: The Complete Series for $55 (was $90).
