Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have announced how Battlefield 6 will run on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, detailing the expected graphics quality and performance for console gamers.
On Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and the upcoming PS5 Pro, players can choose between Fidelity and Performance modes for improved graphics or smoother gameplay. However, the Xbox Series S only offers a single, maximum graphics setting – there are no alternative modes to select.
The game offers two graphics modes: Fidelity and Performance. Fidelity mode prioritizes visual clarity, reaching up to 1440p resolution with a frame rate of 60 frames per second on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Performance mode focuses on smoother gameplay, achieving up to 80 frames per second but with a slightly lower resolution of 1280p. These resolution and frame rate targets are consistent on both consoles.
The PS5 Pro aims to deliver visuals at 2160p resolution with a frame rate of 60 frames per second in Fidelity mode, and 1620p at 80fps in Performance mode. You’ll find a detailed breakdown further down. It’s important to remember these are peak performance goals, and the actual resolution and frame rate players experience will vary depending on the game and situation.
Battlefield 6 on PC can run up to 4K resolution at 144 frames per second with official settings, or even higher if your computer is powerful enough. You can find the complete PC system requirements for more details.
The latest installment in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 6, will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S starting October 10th. The developers are also planning to add a battle royale game mode in the future.
