Asmongold shared the sad news that his father has passed away. This comes just over a week after he paused his streaming schedule to care for his father, who had been unwell.
On September 18, 2025, Asmongold announced on Twitter that his father had passed away a few days earlier.
He described feeling incredibly empty and lost, explaining that his relative was his last family member nearby and he was with him when he passed away.
“I will endure, but I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. I love you, Pa.”
My father recently passed away, and I’m heartbroken. He was my last remaining family member here, and I was with him when he died. The loss is immense, and while I’ll get through this, I know my life will never be quite the same. I love you, Dad.

People immediately shared their support and condolences, and many fondly remembered his funny phone calls to Asmon while he was live streaming.
“So sorry for your loss, king. I’ll miss his random calls on stream,” one said.
Someone expressed their deep sympathy, saying they were very sorry for the person’s loss and that they were a wonderful son, and their loved one was fortunate to have them there.
Asmongold announces father’s death amid indefinite Twitch hiatus
This announcement follows Asmongold’s recent news that he was stepping away from streaming indefinitely to care for his father, who is battling pancreatic cancer and whose health is worsening.
He was initially admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, but tests revealed his liver was failing because of cancer. This led to a difficult time, with Asmon often sleeping on the floor beside his father’s hospital bed while he battled problems like low blood pressure and labored breathing.

In early September, Asmongold explained to his viewers that he needed to pause his streams to deal with a serious personal matter. He said he’d rather be streaming as usual, but taking care of his father was his top priority and would require all of his focus until the situation was resolved.
Asmongold’s mother passed away in October 2021 after a long struggle with COPD. It’s unknown when he’ll be back to streaming, but his viewers are sending him their support during this difficult time.
