Switch 2 Doesn’t Have Skate But Will Get This Rad-Looking Skateboarding Game This Year

The new Skate game from EA is now available for free on PlayStation and Xbox, but it won’t be released on the Switch 2. However, another skateboarding game *will* be coming to Nintendo’s Switch 2 console, joining the existing options already available.

I’m so hyped! Skate Story, this awesome indie game from Sam Eng and Devolver, is coming to the Switch 2 later this year. Seriously, the art style and the whole concept are incredible. You play as a demon made of, get this, ‘glass and pain,’ and the Devil *gives* you a skateboard! Your mission? Skate all the way to the Moon and literally *eat* it to finally break free from Hell. It sounds totally wild, and I can’t wait to play it.

In this game, you play as Ollie, skating through a ruined world filled with ash and smoke on a challenging journey. You’ll need to learn to control your balance and movements to succeed on the crumbling concrete. The game emphasizes the satisfying feeling of landing a perfect trick, like a kickflip.

Skate Story was revealed earlier in the year and will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Currently, there are no plans to release it on Xbox.

Skate Story is coming to Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, joining a growing list of skateboarding games already available on those platforms. These include popular titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and 3+4, as well as Skate Bird, Skater XL, Session, and OlliOlli World.

EA’s Skate game had a strong launch, attracting two million players within its first day. Currently in early access, the game is expected to stay in development for around a year.
