A Pokémon card collector who goes by Kabuto King recently partnered with popular YouTuber MrBeast for a charity event. This came after a popular interaction on X (formerly Twitter) involving a rare, autographed Kabuto card from the first edition of the Fossil set.
On January 4th, a deal was made public: Kabuto King agreed to donate $2,500 to a charity selected by MrBeast if MrBeast would sign a rare trading card for him.
MrBeast responded by raising the stakes, proposing a $10,000 donation instead.

Kabuto King agreed to the new conditions, confirming the $10,000 donation to charity and adding another suggestion. He proposed that both collectors sign a rare, unlimited Kabuto card and then auction it off to raise money for a charity chosen by MrBeast.

This event further builds Kabuto King’s reputation beyond just collecting trading cards. He’s previously connected valuable Kabuto cards to charity, like fundraising with autographed cards, which has broadened his appeal within the Pokémon collecting world.
Last December, an anonymous collector auctioned a signed Kabuto Pokémon card on eBay, raising $51,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
