Taco Bell finally bringing back the Quesarito after years of fan demand

Taco Bell is responding to customer demand and will once again offer the popular Quesarito nationwide, starting December 18th, but only for a limited time.

After years of requests from fans, the product is back! It originally gained internet fame when a 2014 Taco Bell commercial aired during the NBA Draft announcement of Nikola Jokic, momentarily stealing the spotlight from the future MVP.

The Quesarito started as a unique combination of a burrito and a quesadilla. It’s made with seasoned beef and rice, plus chipotle and reduced-fat sour cream, and nacho cheese, all rolled up inside a grilled quesadilla with melted cheese.

Even after Taco Bell stopped selling it, people kept asking for the Quesarito through online petitions and social media. Now, Taco Bell has announced the Quesarito will be back in all locations for a limited time, beginning December 18th.

Taco Bell is running a special offer for its loyalty program members. On December 23rd at 2 p.m. Pacific Time, the first 30,000 Taco Bell Rewards members can get a $1 Quesarito through the Taco Bell app as part of a Tuesday Drop promotion.

The comeback of the Quesarito also brings back a funny connection to the 2014 NBA Draft. When Nikola Jokic was drafted, a Taco Bell Quesarito commercial happened to air at the exact same time, and fans have remembered it ever since as one of the draft’s most surprising coincidences.

The video clip has kept going viral as Nikola Jokic became a three-time NBA MVP while playing for the Denver Nuggets. Now that the Quesarito is back on the menu, Taco Bell recognized the clip and offered Jokic a chance to finally try it.

When someone asked Nikola Jokic if he’d try the Quesarito, he said, “No. It’s good they’re saying sorry, but I won’t be trying it.”

This announcement follows Taco Bell’s recent launch of the Fan Style menu, which includes new items created by its customers.
