2026’s The Mandalorian Movie Celebrates Its 7 Main Characters on New Poster

New promotional materials are focusing on seven key characters from the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu. This film will bring the adventures of the Mandalorian and Grogu – previously seen on Disney+ – to the big screen. The Mandalorian & Grogu is essentially a continuation of the story, replacing what would have been The Mandalorian Season 4, and picks up after the duo’s victory over Moff Gideon.

With marketing increasing for The Mandalorian & Grogu, fans are starting to get a clearer picture of the interesting new characters Mando and Grogu will meet. While some of these characters appeared in trailers for the newest Star Wars film, a recent promotional display shared on X indicates that at least seven new characters will be important to the story.

I’m so excited! They’re bringing The Mandalorian and Grogu to the big screen! The movie is coming out on May 22, 2026, and Jon Favreau, who created the show, is directing. Of course, Pedro Pascal is back, and they’ve added Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White to the cast – it’s going to be amazing!

The Mandalorian & Grogu Marketing Highlights 7 Major Characters

Din Djarin

A new Star Wars movie focusing on Din Djarin, the hero from The Mandalorian, will challenge a long-held tradition in 2026, but it wouldn’t feel right without him. The Season 3 finale saw Din Djarin return to bounty hunting after resolving his conflicts with Moff Gideon and embracing his Mandalorian roots, and that’s exactly where the next movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, will begin.

Although the specific storyline for the new Star Wars movie is being kept secret, it seems the New Republic will ask Mando and Grogu to help them establish power after the Empire’s defeat.

Grogu

Grogu, the lovable character rescued by Din Djarin in Season 1 of The Mandalorian, quickly became like family to the Mandalorian and joined his clan. While Grogu has trained with Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano and improved his Jedi abilities, he still has much to learn, as seen in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Ward

Sigourney Weaver joins the cast of The Mandalorian and Grogu as Ward, a new character shrouded in mystery. We know she’s a Colonel in charge of the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers. Much like Greef Karga did in The Mandalorian, Ward will be overseeing Din Djarin and Grogu as they embark on a new adventure.

Zeb

Now that the New Republic is involved in the story of The Mandalorian and Grogu, it’s possible we’ll see Zeb, a character from Star Wars Rebels, appear. He was absent from the Ahsoka series along with the rest of his crew, but The Mandalorian and Grogu will likely explain what Zeb has been up to.

Fans of Star Wars Rebels are thrilled at the possibility of seeing Zeb Orrelios as a live-action character, and this 2026 Star Wars movie could open the door for the rest of the Ghost crew to appear together on screen sometime down the line.

Anzellans

The new movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, features four of the Anzellan aliens prominently on its promotional standee, hinting they’ll play an important role. Viewers may remember Anzellans from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where they were introduced through the character Babu Frik, a droidsmith who worked on the black market.

Anzellans, the tiny alien mechanics, appeared throughout The Mandalorian on Disney+, especially when Din Djarin brought IG-11 to them for repairs. They’ll be back in The Mandalorian and Grogu, and trailers show Grogu working alongside them in several scenes.

Male Hutt Twin

Since Jabba the Hutt is no longer around in The Mandalorian and Grogu, two of his descendants have taken control of his criminal organization. These Hutt twins were first seen in The Book of Boba Fett, where they fought Boba Fett and the Pykes for dominance over Jabba’s territory on Tatooine, and they will reappear in a Star Wars movie coming out in 2026.

Female Hutt Twin

Like their relative Jabba, the Hutts are powerful crime bosses who enjoy lavish lifestyles, as demonstrated by their grand procession through Mos Espa. Following the Hutt twins’ decision to leave Tatooine and prevent a gang war, The Mandalorian and Grogu will uncover their new location. The series will also explore a compelling encounter between the Hutt siblings and Rotta the Hutt, Jabba’s son, voiced by Jeremy Allen White, who will share several scenes with Din Djarin.
