The popular Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade is back in stock on Amazon after being sold out for over six months! You can now preorder it for $260. This version has a Bubble Bobble theme and comes with 10 pre-installed games. It’s the third Evercade Alpha model, following the Mega Man and Street Fighter editions that launched last November. Those earlier versions quickly sold out in early 2025 and haven’t been available since. If you want one, it’s best to preorder now, as the new edition launches on November 12.
Here’s the list of preloaded Taito games:
- Bubble Bobble
- Puzzle Bobble
- Space Invaders
- Cadash
- Rastan
- Elevator Action
- The FairyLand Story
- Growl
- The Legend of Kage
- The New Zealand Story
Over a dozen additional digital games can be unlocked in the Evercade OS Secret menu.
Okay, so as a huge arcade fan, I was hoping for a ton of Mega Man or Street Fighter stuff right out of the box, but the games that come pre-loaded on the Alpha are just a taste of what it can do. Honestly, buying an Evercade Alpha feels a lot like getting a Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox – it’s a full platform for gaming, although way more compact. The cool thing is, it uses cartridges, and they support over 75 games already! There are three collections: classic console games, arcade hits, and even stuff from home computers.
Evercade currently offers 20 arcade game collections, with four more on the way featuring games from Taito and NeoGeo. In total, you can play over 150 arcade games on the system. The Evercade console series is even bigger, with 48 cartridges and over 400 games, and a growing collection of home computer games – currently 10 cartridges with over 100 games. Most cartridges cost around $30 and focus on specific classic game companies, systems, or series. About 20% of the available games are new indie titles designed with a retro look and feel. New cartridges are released frequently. You can currently preorder seven upcoming collections on Amazon, including one dedicated to Rare games like Battletoads and Conker. The Rare Collection will be released shortly after the Taito Bartop Arcade collection, and will be joined by new collections from Activision and Llamasoft, featuring a total of 27 games.

One of the best things about the Evercade Alpha is its large collection of games. While we haven’t tested the Taito version yet, it’s built the same way as the Mega Man and Street Fighter versions. The main difference, besides the design, is the arcade stick – the Taito model has a round knob, while the Capcom versions have a flatter, bat-shaped knob.
The Capcom versions of the Evercade Alpha feel incredibly well-made, so we anticipate the Taito edition will be just as solid. The Alpha’s 8-inch screen delivers a sharp, colorful picture, and the joystick and buttons are better than those found on other similar-priced arcade cabinets. The Evercade operating system is simple and user-friendly. At only about 13 pounds, the Alpha is lightweight and easy to move around your home. It’s even comfortable to use while relaxing on the couch – you can simply set it on your lap.
With so many retro games available on the Evercade, you might prefer using a standard controller. The Alpha model initially only works with controllers you plug in with a USB cable. To use a wireless controller, you’ll need an adapter. The 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 lets you connect many Bluetooth controllers, like those for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, plus most controllers made by 8BitDo. You can also use a variety of arcade sticks – both wired and wireless – which is great for playing multiplayer games with traditional arcade controls.

Evercade handhelds & home console
So, you’re curious about the Evercade and all the games, but the Alpha is a bit pricey? No worries! Blaze Entertainment has a bunch of other options that are way more affordable. I just saw that Amazon restocked both the Evercade EXP-R handheld and the VS-R home console, and they’re both only $130! Plus, they come with the first Tomb Raider Collection – the original trilogy – which is awesome.
