Ironmouse left shaken after “uncomfortable” interaction with RaKai & Ray at Streamer Awards

Ironmouse, a popular VTuber, revealed she had a very upsetting conversation with streamers RaKai and Ray at the Streamer Awards, which left her feeling shaken up.

The Streamer Awards for 2025 were held on December 6th, honoring the most popular and talented content creators online.

The show had a few moments that quickly spread online, largely because of jokes made by hosts QTCinderella and FanFan that some people disagreed with. But an event that happened behind the scenes is also becoming a big topic of conversation on social media.

Ironmouse says RaKai & Ray asked her “invasive” questions

Shortly after the Awards show, popular VTuber Ironmouse discussed facing criticism online. Some viewers had accused her of attempting to be more like other broadcasters, RaKai and Ray, and she responded to those comments.

At the Streamer Awards, two fans excitedly met Ironmouse, calling her a “legend” and asking about her setup and appearance.

Ironmouse encouraged the conversation, telling people they could ask her anything. She then jokingly said she uses a VTuber avatar because she considers herself unattractive.

They then asked the VTuber about her background before leaving and continuing to explore the Wiltern Theater.

So, something happened recently that caused a bit of an uproar in my community. I actually talked about it on stream, and honestly, it really bothered me – it made me feel super uncomfortable. It was just… a weird situation, and I wanted to address it with everyone.

She explained, “You can’t imagine what that moment was like for me. I was incredibly uncomfortable, so much so that I was shaking. I had a feeling something awful was coming, and I braced myself for them to say something really hurtful.”

If someone asks me a silly question, I respond with a silly answer. When they asked me what I look like, I gave them the most ridiculous answer I could think of.

I felt really uneasy and just wanted to leave. I avoided talking to them because I anticipated they would ask personal and intrusive questions. I was attempting to be polite, but I wasn’t trying to please them—I was just giving short, unhelpful answers hoping they’d stop bothering me.

Mouse’s comments on the situation quickly spread throughout the streaming world. Her supporters are strongly backing her, but many other viewers believe RaKai and Ray were simply asking reasonable questions.

Someone on X wondered why a simple question could cause such a strong reaction, asking how it led to someone being visibly upset online.

Someone else commented that while Ray and RaKai sometimes ask inappropriate questions, this specific conversation felt positive. They noted that Ray and RaKai seemed to be trying to be respectful, and even when Ray started to ask something potentially sensitive, he stopped himself – but Ironmouse encouraged him to continue.

I understand Ray and Rakai sometimes ask difficult or overly personal questions, but this specific conversation felt genuinely kind. They made an effort to be respectful, and even when Ray started to ask something potentially sensitive, he stopped himself. Ironmouse actually encouraged them to continue.

Someone asked if this happened when she mentioned being Puerto Rican and two people made faces at her. They wondered if it was because she’s Latina, suggesting they thought she was attractive and were acting inappropriately. The commenter said they could see why she’d be upset if strangers made such a gesture because of her ethnicity.

Ironmouse recently shared an update about the 2025 Streamer Awards following her support of The Burnt Peanut, who won VTuber of the Year.
