TheBurntPeanut has addressed accusations that his fans harassed Ironmouse after she publicly congratulated him on winning a Streamer Award.
The VTuber talked about what happened during a live stream, following reports that Ironmouse had been threatened due to the recent controversy.
This response follows quickly after Ironmouse spoke out to support him following criticism of his win as VTuber of the Year. That victory caused a divide within the community and continues to spark discussion about whether he deserved the award.
Ironmouse expressed confusion and frustration over the negativity she’s received, saying she doesn’t understand why people are claiming she isn’t a VTuber. She pointed out that she clearly meets the definition of a VTuber and described the criticism from other VTubers as ‘cringe’.
Peanut denies his community was responsible
During a livestream, Peanut responded to criticism that his fans were behaving offensively towards Ironmouse. He denied the accusations, stating the harassment wasn’t coming from people who support him.
He stated that the online activity wasn’t happening within a community he recognized. While he knew some people had left small comments, he’d also been told about much harsher messages. “I’ve been hearing she’s received death threats, and people have been saying really awful things,” he explained.
After facing significant criticism, TheBurntPeanut has responded by claiming the anger aimed at ironmouse originates from a segment of the VTuber community – specifically, what they describe as middle-aged men pretending to be young anime characters.

Peanut explained that the harassment he was receiving stemmed from people who were angry that he’d been congratulated for winning VTuber of the Year. He hinted at who was responsible, asking viewers to guess which online community it was.
He explained that the issue wasn’t her congratulating them, but rather the reaction from the community. He emphasized, repeatedly, the unusual situation: grown men, around 40 years old, dressing up as teenage anime characters.
He accused those who were upset by her congratulations as being the source of the problem. “They’re the ones struggling with the fact that she acknowledged our win,” he explained.
