Ratchet & Clank’s Captain Qwark voice actor Jim Ward dies aged 66

Jim Ward, well known as the voice of Captain Qwark in Ratchet & Clank and many other memorable characters, has passed away at 66.

Broadcaster Stephanie Miller announced the news on December 10th, sharing that Ward’s wife had told her he had passed away.

For many years, David Ward was the voice of Qwark in the Ratchet & Clank games, spin-offs, and other media. His energetic and funny performance became a well-known and beloved part of the series, perfectly capturing its unique sense of fun.

Besides his role as Qwark, Ward had a successful career in animation, video games, radio, and comedy. He lent his voice to popular franchises like Ben 10, The Fairly OddParents, Star Wars, and Call of Duty, becoming known as a remarkably adaptable performer with a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.

People first learned about Stephen Ward’s health issues in 2021 when he stopped doing voice acting due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
