In a promotional video for the new Marvel show Wonder Man, Ben Kingsley’s character abruptly walks out of an interview.
Wonder Man is a new superhero series coming from Marvel Television, created by Destin Daniel Cretton (known for his work on Spider-Man and Shang-Chi) and Andrew Guest. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play the lead role of Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, and Benedict Kingsley will return to the Marvel universe as his character Trevor Slattery.
What happens in the Wonder Man video?
I just watched the new Wonder Man clip and it’s amazing! Kingsley’s character, Trevor, is doing this podcast interview with Ben Mankiewicz – it’s supposed to be a show called ‘Bad Actors’. Trevor’s really trying to promote his current work, but Mankiewicz keeps bringing up Trevor’s past – specifically his time in jail and that whole Mandarin thing from Iron Man 3. It’s super awkward because Trevor clearly doesn’t want to revisit it, and eventually he just gets fed up and walks out mid-interview. It’s so good!
Watch the Wonder Man video below:
The new show, Wonder Man, follows Simon Williams, an up-and-coming actor trying to make it big in Hollywood. He meets Trevor Slattery, a former star whose best days might be over, and learns a famous director, Von Kovak, is rebooting the classic superhero movie, Wonder Man. Both actors are determined to land roles in the film, and the show offers a look at what really happens behind the scenes in the entertainment world.
The series features performances by Arian Moayed, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers, joining previously announced stars Abdul-Mateen II and Slattery. Executive producers include Guest, Cretton, Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, and Brad Winderbaum.
The new Marvel series, Wonder Man, is coming to Disney+ on January 27, 2026. It’s part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and will have eight episodes.
