Emma Mackey recently discussed her part as the White Witch in the upcoming Narnia movie, “The Magician’s Nephew,” which is directed by Greta Gerwig and is eagerly awaited by fans.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mackey was asked about discussing her experience becoming the White Witch. She playfully responded that she couldn’t reveal much, but expressed her enthusiasm for the film.
Mackey laughed and said, “Nothing yet!” But he quickly added how thrilled he was to be collaborating with Greta once more and sharing this particular story. He believes audiences are going to love it and that it will be a fantastic experience.
Details about the story for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Narnia film are still largely secret. While no actors have been officially confirmed, Daniel Craig (known for his role in Casino Royale) is being considered for a part, though he hasn’t yet said whether he’ll accept. The specific character he might play is also unknown. Additionally, singer Charli XCX is reportedly in discussions to play the White Witch.
Greta Gerwig’s directing credits include the 2008 film Nights and Weekends (co-directed with Joe Swanberg), as well as the critically acclaimed Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019). She’s also written screenplays for films like Frances Ha (2012) and Mistress America (2015), among others.
Greta Gerwig’s new Narnia film will be shown in IMAX theaters worldwide for two weeks in November 2026, before becoming available to stream on Netflix starting Christmas 2026.
