A video game based on the popular show ‘The Boys’ is coming out, and several actors from the show will be lending their voices and likenesses to the game.
Despite being around since 2019 on Prime Video—and even earlier as a comic book—the darkly humorous superhero series The Boys hasn’t had its own dedicated video game… until now.
A virtual reality game based on ‘The Boys’ is coming in 2026 for Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2. While Homelander was featured in ‘Mortal Kombat 1,’ this will be the first complete game experience set within ‘The Boys’ world.
The story takes place during the show’s existing timeline and features many returning characters. Some of these characters will be voiced by the actors who originally played them, but not everyone.
What is The Boys VR game about?
Trigger Warning is a new VR game from ARVORE, the studio behind Emmy-winning experiences. You play as Lucas, a former Vought employee whose visit to the Voughtland amusement park takes a dark turn.
The game centers around a team of minor superheroes who have caused a lot of trouble. Now, Lucas is seeking payback with the help of The Boys. He’s using Compound V to give himself temporary superpowers – everything from blending into the background and growing blades from his hands, to even shooting lasers from his eyes like Homelander.
During the VR experience, you’ll get to work alongside well-known characters like Butcher and Kimiko. Laz Alonso and Jensen Ackles also return to voice their roles as Mother’s Milk (M.M.) and Soldier Boy.
According to ARVORE CEO Ricardo Justus, the game, developed alongside showrunner Eric Kripke, will deliver everything fans love about ‘The Boys’.
According to Creative Director Ricardo Laganaro, the team didn’t just offer feedback on the ideas. They actively collaborated on developing the characters and scenes, even contributing dialogue that truly fit the world of ‘The Boys’.
The Boys: Trigger Warning doesn’t have a set release date, but we know developers are targeting a 2026 launch, which could place it after the final season. It’s priced at $23.99 USD and set to be available across the Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 devices.
