An AI VTuber Is Trying To Complete Hardcore Minecraft, And All Hell Is Breaking Loose

Neuro-Sama, a well-known AI streamer who plays games as a virtual character, is trying to beat Minecraft in Hardcore mode. However, she’s been having a lot of funny but unsuccessful moments, and the people helping her are starting to think she won’t succeed.

I’m totally fascinated by Neuro! She’s a VTuber created by Vedal987, and she’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. She’s powered by AI – a really smart one! – that lets her react super quickly, ‘see’ what’s happening on screen, read her Twitch chat, and even respond to people talking to her almost instantly. She can even play games! Right now, she’s tackling Minecraft Hardcore, which is insane because if she dies, the whole world is gone. Vedal and some other VTubers, Crelly and Filian, have made a bet that they won’t stop streaming until all four of them beat the game, which sounds like a huge commitment!

Beating Minecraft requires a team of four to reach The End and defeat the Ender Dragon, which is already a tough challenge. It becomes even harder when you’re depending on a simple AI to make good choices, understand directions, and stay alive.

On top of everything else, Neuro has caused another world reset with some questionable decisions. She frequently gets carried away with a desire to fight, hunting down enemies at night but without a very good plan. She hasn’t quite learned how to effectively attack and defend, so she tends to repeatedly strike at enemies with weak attacks until she’s defeated.

In addition to the typical ways to die in Minecraft – like getting blown up by Creepers, attacked by Endermen, or falling into lava – Neuro, a player character, appeared to deliberately annoy her creator and his friends. Wearing full enchanted diamond armor, the group ventured into the Nether to collect Blaze Rods, which are needed to open the portal to The End. As soon as they arrived, Neuro started building a bridge over a large lava lake. After glancing back at the overworld portal, she repeatedly crouched and then intentionally walked off the edge of the bridge, falling into the lava and dying.

Neuro accidentally killed a Villager while giving in to her destructive urges. This triggered the Iron Golem protecting the village, and it quickly retaliated, killing Neuro in just two hits and ending her game.

Crelly, who’s taken on a motherly role and often watches over Neuro, is getting increasingly annoyed with the AI’s repeated errors. After Neuro failed for the 74th time, Crelly exclaimed in frustration, “She wants to die!” By attempt 80, Crelly was repeatedly calling Neuro’s name as the AI stubbornly tried to dig up out of a secure area Crelly had built. She can also be heard warning Neuro to avoid an Enderman, trying to guide her to safety. It’s clear Crelly is losing confidence in Neuro’s ability to play Minecraft.

As of right now, the streamers are taking a break after trying for over 83 times. Their stream has been running since Friday, December 5th, starting at 11 AM Pacific Time, 2 PM Eastern Time, or 7 PM GMT. According to YouTube editor KeidenEdits, Neuro has caused 47 deaths, Filian 14, Vedal 13, and Crelly 10. Of those deaths, 17 were caused by Zombies, 11 by Creepers, and 11 by Skeletons. Other causes include 9 deaths from falling, 8 from drowning, 4 from Iron Golems and lava, and 4 instances of Neuro intentionally killing others. The Drowned mob killed two players, and there were two deaths each caused by Zombified Piglins and Endermen. One player was killed by each of the following: a Witch, a Spider, a Husk, and a Guardian. Neuro also died once from starvation and suffocation, and Vedal accidentally killed another player once.

The team will try again today, December 8th, starting at 8:30 AM Pacific Time, 11:30 AM Eastern Time, or 4:30 PM GMT.
