By August 2025, Rolling Stone had released its yearly rundown of influential creators, placing Caleb Hearon in the sixth spot, slightly above YouTube sensation Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson who came in seventh. However, MrBeast reacted on X with a now-deleted post expressing surprise at how someone with fewer followers could rank higher than him.
The strong criticism aimed at the reaction was predominant, as numerous individuals supported Hearon and deemed MrBeast as overly sensitive about the rankings. Subsequently, Donaldson removed the post and adjusted his perspective by admitting that he reconsidered Hearon’s content following the incident.
Instead, Hearon handled the situation gracefully. He shared MrBeast’s tweet on his Instagram story, adding a touch of humor by suggesting they were in “peace negotiations.” Later, he reassured fans that he found the incident amusing and didn’t let the comments affect him deeply. He believed the online community had exaggerated the issue.
Hearon recalls MrBeast apology during Mythical Kitchen
On September 11, Hearon made an appearance on the YouTube series Mythical Kitchen. During the show, the hosts unveiled a cake with the words “Sorry Mr. Beast” written on it. This joke was a nod to an online feud and Hearon’s humorous assertion that peace talks were being conducted.
MrBeast reached out to Hearon following the backlash, apologizing as he said, “I’m sorry about that.” According to Hearon, he found the whole situation amusing and didn’t take offense. He even laughed heartily. Moreover, Hearon suggested that the Rolling Stone feature wasn’t intended as a strict ranking but rather to keep readers engaged.
