Actor Troy Winbush, who played character Nathaniel Greene on the popular ABC series 9-1-1, has spoken about his character’s absence from the show and the possibility of him rejoining the cast in upcoming seasons. Winbush portrayed Nathaniel, the biological father of Denny, the son of Hen and Karen Wilson, across three episodes spanning 2018 to 2023. The last time fans saw Nathaniel was in season 6, episode 13, titled “Mixed Feelings.” However, the storyline leaves room for Winbush’s return to the series in the future.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Winbush discussed the possibility of his character continuing in the series and hinted at the prospect of rejoining the show. That character is yet present, so who knows? The experience was nothing short of enjoyable, and it was a joy to be part of such an inviting team. The moments I shared there were truly memorable. Who can predict what lies ahead for that show?

He Has Ties To Chicago So He Could Return Again

Nathaniel is just starting to delve into his bond with Denny, which has led to tension with Karen, Hen, and even Eva who’s behind bars. However, there remains a glimmer of hope for him to reconcile with his biological child on screen. Denny appears to enjoy their time together, and Nathaniel definitely owes some apologies. It’s crucial that they stay in contact, and it’s likely they have been doing so off-camera since Nathaniel last appeared on the show.

9-1-1 character Nathaniel, portrayed by Winbush, made his debut in season 2, episode 5 titled “Awful People.” Following this, he did not reappear until two episodes in season 6, suggesting a gap of around three to four years. With the potential for recurring roles on the show, it’s possible that Winbush might return in future seasons. The current season 8 of 9-1-1 has been filled with significant events like Bobby’s death, leaving little room for Nathaniel’s storyline at present, but it’s not impossible to expect one in the future.
