8BitDo’s Nintendo-Inspired Gaming Mouse Is Available Now For $50

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the 8BitDo NES-style wireless mouse, the Retro R8 N Edition, is now up for grabs on Amazon for $50! Initially unveiled in April, it was only possible to preorder this retro beauty for a short while before 8BitDo had to halt shipments to the US due to tariffs. 8BitDo’s latest mouse aligns with its N Edition Retro Mechanical Keyboard, offered in both tenkeyless and full-sized versions that include a number pad.

8BitDo’s Retro R8 N Edition is the second version to be released; this mouse was first introduced this year, featuring an officially licensed and translucent green design reminiscent of the iconic green special-edition original Xbox console/controller.

8BitDo’s Retro Mechanical Keyboards, notably the corresponding N Edition models, are ideally suited to go hand-in-hand with the R8 Mouse. All of 8BitDo’s wireless keyboards deliver excellent performance at affordable costs. They support Bluetooth, 2.4GHz Wireless, and USB-C wired connections. Additionally, they come equipped with a detachable Super Button panel boasting two large microswitch buttons. If you choose a tenkeyless model, you can team it up with the N Edition Wireless Numpad for an expanded setup when needed.

The Retro R8 gaming mouse by 8BitDo isn’t the initial model designed with inspiration from the Nintendo Entertainment System; that honor goes to the manufacturer’s first release, the N30 Mouse priced at $30. The N30 Wireless Mouse sports an unconventional design, featuring a D-pad instead of side buttons, top buttons mimicking the face buttons of the NES controller, and a touch panel rather than a scroll wheel. Despite its quirky nature, it’s not as functional as the Retro R8 Mouse.
