8 Characters I’d Most Want to See Return in The White Lotus Season 4

In a more conversational tone:
The TV show The White Lotus excels at crafting vivid, complex characters that we can empathize with, even as they make choices that leave us questioning. There are certain characters I’d love to see return if an All-Star season were to happen. Despite the thrilling twists and turns of the series, some of its most powerful moments come when characters engage in heartfelt conversations, such as Laurie’s monologue in The White Lotus season 3, which takes place during a quiet, thoughtful discussion between characters.

The finale of The White Lotus season 3 resulted in the demise of several beloved characters, while other intriguing tourists managed to carry on. Although details about The White Lotus season 4 remain scarce, such as its location and returning cast members, if the upcoming season continues the pattern of featuring recurring characters, there are a handful of guests from previous seasons who deserve another chance.

8. Olivia Mossbacher (Sydney Sweeney)

The Sarcastic College Student Could Have Moved Into The Professional World

In a fresh twist, Olivia appears to resemble Piper from season 1, as both characters profited significantly from their parents’ wealth and were unaware of its ongoing influence on their perspectives and experiences. However, Olivia, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, presents quite differently than Piper did, offering a more engaging viewing experience. With her sharp intellect, quick wit, and occasionally confrontational demeanor, Olivia is captivating in her own right. It would be intriguing to witness the boldness of this character again in any future setting.

Since season 1 occurred four years ago and it’s yet to be revealed when season 4 will premiere on HBO and Max, there’s a time gap during which Olivia would have matured. If she reappears in another season of The White Lotus, the show could delve into how her life has progressed since starting a career. It’s likely that she would exhibit traits more reminiscent of her mother, but to maintain the series’ comedic essence, it will be essential to reintroduce the humor from Olivia’s scenes, such as the memorable “power bottom” discussion regarding her grandfather.

7. Paula (Brittany O’Grady)

Olivia And Paula Were Great Together

It would also be delightful to have Paula, like Olivia, revisit another White Lotus location. Brittany O’Grady’s portrayal of Paula skillfully made conversations awkward yet engaging, either by voicing legitimate critiques about the family’s Hawaiian vacation or by instigating amusing conflicts. Her budding relationship with a hotel employee added an intriguing layer to her character, creating tension and humor in her interactions with Olivia, making their relationship both captivatingly toxic and entertainingly fun.

In the event that either Olivia and Paula or just Paula reappear in a future season of The White Lotus, it’s crucial that their character be brought back. Given the intrigue Paula stirred up during her time with the Mossbachers, she could once again prove to be an engaging character. The drama surrounding Paula’s drug use and romantic entanglements in the previous season made for some tense and entertaining moments. Although Paula may have grown more mature as an adult, another trip to The White Lotus might just find her getting into even more mischief.

6. Frank (Sam Rockwell)

Season 3 Needed More Of Frank

Introducing Sam Rockwell’s character Frank midway through season 3 of The White Lotus was an enjoyable twist, but unfortunately, his screen time didn’t measure up to the potential he offered. Despite this, whenever Frank appeared onscreen, he managed to outshine everyone else. It was evident from Frank’s monologue in episode 5 that his character has faced some hardships. In conversation with his old friend Rick, Frank revealed that after relocating to Thailand, he found himself in a troubled state, grappling with questions about his identity and sexuality. As a result, he delved into Buddhism as a way of finding solace.

The purpose of this confession appears to be that he had transformed and was no longer the violent individual Rick used to know, but that soon shifts as they start partying together in just the next two episodes. Frank surpasses a limit where he can maintain self-control, however, in the finale, it appears he has returned to his tranquil, sober state. The character is highly entertaining and intricate, even from the limited scenes we witness him in. If there’s a possibility of his return, Frank might have to confront both his brief slip-up and Rick’s demise.

5. Mia (Beatrice Granno)

Mia Could Have Found Success In Her Singing

Instead of depicting Beatrice Granno as a past guest, she embodies Mia, an enthusiastic singer often seen at the White Lotus hotel in Sicily alongside her friend Lucia during this season. These characters are sex workers who aim to charm different hotel guests and staff members, achieving varying degrees of success. The interaction between them is entertaining and sometimes heartwarming as they encourage each other without being critical. Mia appears shy at first, but she gains self-assurance throughout the series, culminating in a new job opportunity by the end of the week.

In a more casual and fluid rewording: Although some storylines in “The White Lotus” can get heavy, Mia’s plotline is more laid-back, and the risks she faces are less intense even though they’re engaging. She’s an appealing character, and her musical talents take center stage. Though Mia and Lucia stir up a little mischief at the hotel, they never find themselves in any real peril. After the heavy tone of “The White Lotus” season 3, Mia could be the ideal character to reintroduce, offering an enjoyable viewing experience without excessive tension.

4. Lucia (Simona Tabasco)

Lucia Is Such A Fun Character

Among the memorable characters in “The White Lotus,” Lucia stood out as one of the most intriguing. It’s only suitable that she returns for season 4, this time portrayed as a newly affluent guest seeking enjoyment at the resort. In the finale of “The White Lotus” season 2, Lucia managed to swindle Albie out of €50,000 by deceiving him into believing her pimp was holding her in Italy. In truth, she merely enlisted Alessio’s aid in pretending to threaten her, enabling her to amass wealth. Given these events, it seems plausible that Lucia now has enough funds for a trip of her own, making a return appearance at another White Lotus resort an appealing prospect.

Lucia and Mia displayed an exceptional camaraderie during their performances, making it enticing to envision them reuniting as a duo in upcoming episodes. Their bond, arguably one of the most vibrant friendships portrayed throughout the show’s three-season run, has left a lasting impression. If any relationships were to persist beyond individual storylines, theirs would be the strongest candidate.

Imagine them embarking on an exciting adventure together, perhaps vacationing at a lavish destination. Even if Lucia appeared solo in future seasons, her vivacious, unpredictable, and entertaining nature ensures that she’d still captivate audiences. I have no doubt that this character will continue to add flavor to the series in the seasons ahead.

3. Valentina (Sabrina Impacciatore)

The Stressed Resort Manager Deserves A Vacation Of Her Own

It appears that the team working at the White Lotus resorts often face challenging circumstances. For instance, Armond’s downfall was triggered by Shane’s behavior towards him, while season 3 witnessed a traumatic shooting incident. Given these hardships, it seems only right that Valentina, the manager from season 2 who managed to survive, should also have a chance for a well-deserved break. After all, she has dealt with numerous guest deaths during her tenure, and even though they occurred off hotel premises, the stress must have been immense.

Valentina becomes more laid-back as time goes by, eventually engaging in a sexual relationship with Mia and offering her a job at the hotel. It’s evident that she prioritizes order above everything else. Given the unexpected finale, Valentina might be inclined to vacation somewhere where she doesn’t have to be in control. Similar to Belinda appearing as a guest and trainee in season 3, Valentina may engage in some form of exchange with another White Lotus location, allowing her to unwind, although, typical of The White Lotus, something troublesome is bound to occur.

2. Laurie Duffy (Carrie Coon)

Laurie Was One Of Season 3’s Best Characters

In the third season of “The White Lotus,” Carrie Coon’s portrayal of Laurie Duffy truly shone as one of the most captivating performances. The narrative of the three friends on a getaway, filled with minor squabbles, kept viewers engaged, but it was Laurie who felt the most authentic and genuine in her emotions and life challenges. Despite the distinct personalities of the friends, Laurie seemed to embody honesty and realness like no other. The character was entertaining, occasionally overdramatic when necessary, yet she also displayed a deep sense of sincerity.

Over the course of the season, Laurie embarked on an intriguing odyssey. Upon her arrival, it was evident that there were some fissures within the friend circle, as Laurie yearned for more openness and excitement. The sequences featuring the trio are captivating, yet Laurie’s solo scenes enriched her character significantly. It would be equally engaging to see Laurie return to a White Lotus resort for a personal getaway or perhaps with her daughter, to continue exploring and discovering, but this time solely for her own self-exploration.

1. Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey)

Victoria Would Find A Way To Pay For Another Luxurious Trip

The finale of season 3 for The White Lotus left Victoria Ratliff’s fate uncertain. Although Timothy opted not to poison his family, their return home could mean losing their wealth and Timothy facing jail time. Given her repeated comments about expecting an easy, luxurious life, it seems that life of ease may not be in the cards for her. Yet, I still anticipate that we might see Victoria again at the White Lotus in the future, as she is likely to devise a means to maintain her wealth.

In another intriguing turn of events for “The White Lotus,” it would be delightful to witness the return of the extravagant Victoria Ratliff, portrayed masterfully by Parker Posey. Her comedic brilliance shone brightly in every scene she graced, making her one of the most cherished characters on the show. Each time she appeared, her effortlessly aloof demeanor and witty delivery stole the spotlight. Amidst the intense moments in “The White Lotus” season 3, Victoria was a breath of fresh air, reminding us of what truly makes this series exceptional.
