Marvel Studios is set to shine a light on some of the MCU’s toughest superheroes and villains as they return for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. In its first season, the show worked hard to seamlessly incorporate Daredevil and his companions into the broader MCU following years of independent production on Netflix. Now that these key characters have been firmly established within Marvel Studios, they’re all geared up for more thrilling adventures.
In the cast for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, we have six significant Marvel Universe superheroes and antagonists confirmed. The roster for this next run is already impressive, featuring new faces like Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor. However, the main attractions are those with heroic or villainous roles, as several influential figures are set to bring fresh intrigue.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to be released in early 2026.
Every Superhero and Villain Confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Daredevil
As a die-hard Marvel fan, I can hardly contain my excitement to share the news that Charlie Cox will once again step into the shoes of Matt Murdock/Daredevil for the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again”. This is not only a welcome return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but it also marks his seventh project within this expansive universe. From his original solo “Daredevil” series on Netflix, to teaming up as part of “The Defenders”, and most recently lending his voice to “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, it’s clear that Matt Murdock continues to be an integral part of the MCU. I, for one, can hardly wait to see what adventures lie ahead!
In Season 2, Cox will have more chances to wear the Daredevil costume compared to Season 1, as Matt Murdock and his associates face daunting anti-vigilante messages emanating from Mayor Wilson Fisk’s office. Moreover, Cox will find himself evading Fisk, joining forces with Karen Page and a fresh group of allies to protect New York City from its powerful political figures.
Jessica Jones
Krysten Ritter is set to reappear as Jessica Jones following a seven-year absence from Marvel’s main stage, appearing in Season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again.” This will mark her third Marvel production, having starred in three seasons of “Jessica Jones” and playing a part in “The Defenders” on Netflix. However, this will also be the first time she portrays her renowned antihero character under the Marvel Studios brand.
In Season 2, it’s unclear what role Jessica will play, but photos suggest that she is filming with Charlie Cox for a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After Season 3 of Jessica Jones, her storyline continues, though there will be several years between now and her appearance in 2026 as she takes a break from the franchise.
Punisher
In the course of developing “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1, it was announced that Jon Bernthal would reprise his role as The Punisher, making him the second Defenders hero to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Following brief appearances in the first season (post his stints in “Daredevil” Season 2 and “The Punisher”), a trailer for Season 2 unveiled during Disney’s Upfront presentation confirmed Bernthal’s comeback to the MCU.
As a die-hard movie buff, I’m eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Punisher’s story. The big dilemma now is whether “Born Again” Season 2 will unfold before or after the events of his upcoming Special Presentation. But let me tell you, with every fiber of his being, Frank Castle has unfinished business with Wilson Fisk. That anger burning inside him? It’s going to fuel a relentless pursuit for New York’s Mayor, a showdown that promises to be as intense and brutal as Frank can make it.
Kingpin
In the antagonist role, no character will leave a greater mark on “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2 than Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk (also known as the Kingpin). Despite being absent from MCU films, Fisk has made notable appearances in series like “Echo” and “Hawkeye,” and he previously starred in the original Netflix version of Daredevil.
In the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” the Kingpin resumes his role as New York City’s mayor, intensifying his anti-vigilante policies through a dedicated task force. Moreover, following the chilling act from Season 1 where he brutally killed Commissioner Gallo with his bare hands, the Kingpin is anticipated to be even more formidable on his own.
Vanessa Fisk
As a seasoned movie critic, I must say that the intriguing twist of Ayelet Zurer’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the series “Born Again” left me quite intrigued. Having first seen her portray Vanessa Fisk in the original Daredevil show, I was initially concerned about the recasting during early production. However, my apprehensions were quickly alleviated when Netflix brought back Zurer for the role. This time around, her character is even more chilling and captivating than before, making me eagerly anticipate the unfolding storyline.
Alongside a challenging stint of marriage counseling with her husband, Vanessa took on an antagonistic role herself, fatally shooting her previous lover in cold blood to demonstrate her devotion towards Wilson Fisk. In Season 2, she is predicted to wield even greater influence over the city as Fisk targets vigilantes and superheroes.
Bullseye
I couldn’t contain my excitement when Wilson Bethel made his electrifying comeback in the MCU for “Daredevil: Born Again,” stepping back into the shoes of Benjamin Poindexter, better known as Bullseye. This menacing character entered the scene with a bang, orchestrating the death of Foggy Nelson, played by Elden Henson, an order presumably given by Vanessa Fisk.
In the upcoming Season 2, Bullseye seems to be a significant focus, given his attempt on Vanessa Fisk’s life in front of the Kingpin, following the elimination of Matt Murdock’s most trusted friend. Though specific plot points are yet undisclosed, viewers can anticipate a lot of tension from this ruthless antagonist in the year 2026.
White Tiger
In the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” a new character named White Tiger, who is Hector Ayala’s daughter, takes on the role previously held by her father, after he was killed by Cole North in the events leading up to the series.
In Season 1, Camila Rodriguez’s character, Angela Del Toro, was introduced. For the upcoming season, it has been confirmed through recent set photos that she will don a superhero suit. Unlike her father’s costume, her suit appears to be more casual with a white hood and a tiger-patterned bandana.
It’s possible that White Tiger’s time as a young superhero in New York City might lead to her becoming part of the Young Avengers team in the future.
