Regardless of the circumstances, she has found ways to minimize her involvement. Edie might have been aloof towards Lucas in the beginning, but deep down, she sees him as a genuine good person. Additionally, there’s an obvious spark between them that they both appear to be ignoring.

After they’ve dealt with their respective issues (Lucas is no longer governor, Edie no longer works for the CA), there’s an opportunity for them to appreciate each other more.
