Zockrates Laboratories, an independent development studio, has been getting ready for the launch of their eagerly awaited 3D platformer titled Ruffy and the Riverside. The launch, originally scheduled for Q1 2025, is now planned for consoles and PCs. However, to ensure they deliver the best game possible, the developers have decided to postpone its release from its initial date.
Just now, the developer unveiled the new launch date of the game during PlayStation’s indie highlight, where Zockrates Laboratories’ Art Director, Patrick Ruckdeschel, shared insights about what players can anticipate at the game’s debut via the PS Blog. Starting from today, gamers can pre-order Ruffy and the Riverside for both consoles and PCs before its expected mid-2025 release date.

In the game of Ruffy, players will be granted a magical ability known as SWAP, which allows them to move textures around within the game environment. This means they can swap environments, for instance, turning ice into lava or waterfalls into vines, making travel more convenient. Additionally, players can use this power to manipulate various objects found in Riverside and solve puzzles, such as transforming stones into wood to construct a boat or changing walls into rubble to clear the way for thrilling adventures.
