3 Upcoming PC Cases To Plan Your Build Around

Constructing a gaming PC is similar to customizing a hot rod – while speed components are crucial, why not make it visually appealing too if you’re going to invest so much time? Thus, enthusiasts who build their own systems often prioritize finding a PC case that matches their style. Computex, the annual tech expo held in Taipei, Taiwan, is where manufacturers display their new PC cases for the year. Some designs are purely decorative, while others focus on functionality, but many of them are truly captivating. However, it’s worth mentioning that the availability of some newly released computing items could be affected by ongoing international trade issues, such as U.S. tariffs. Despite this, here are some of our favorite cases from the show.

Hyte X50 Air

In recent years, Hyte has risen as a notable brand in PC cases, and the X50 Air underscores why this is so. Its sleek, rounded design and diverse color choices – including lavender, matcha, pink, red, along with the traditional black and white versions – evoke a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of the iMacs from the past.

As a passionate gamer, I recently got a glimpse into the challenges faced by HYTE Product Director Rob Teller in designing an airflow-friendly mesh on a curved surface for their latest gaming case. In a chat with Gamers Nexus, he revealed the trials and tribulations they encountered during the prototyping process, showcasing several failed attempts, such as one with a soft metal that started to rust within a week and another where the mesh’s edge acted like a “tear here” perforation line. However, despite these setbacks, the final product is a truly distinctive case, boasting both internal and external gentle curves that are sure to catch every gamer’s eye.

The model you’re inquiring about isn’t currently accessible, but HYTE has an array of excellent alternatives available now. For instance, there’s the Hyte Y70, which boasts a variety of vibrant color options, like the one depicted here, albeit with less curvature. This model is priced at $239.

Silverstone FLP02

This case offers an appealing fusion of vintage style with contemporary enhancements. Inside, it’s generously roomy to accommodate robust GPUs and AIO coolers that can be up to 360mm in size. The front of the case sports one USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, and a combined audio jack, all of which are tucked beneath a magnetic cover.

This model incorporates familiar elements found on traditional PC cases from the past. For instance, there’s a functional lock on the front of the case that secures the power button. The Turbo button, once used to overclock ancient CPUs during the early days of PC gaming, now serves to adjust your fan speed manually. Additionally, the front of the case can accommodate three 5.25-inch drives. If you’re among the vast majority of modern PC gamers who haven’t needed an optical drive in over a decade (not statistically confirmed), you can keep the dummy floppy disk-like pieces intact. However, if you prefer, you can insert 5.25-inch optical drives into these spaces instead.

Initially, the classic, highly sought-after FLP01 model from Silverstone was a huge hit, and the company has shared that they aim to produce many more units to meet the high demand. The FLP02 is set for release later this year at a price of $220 in the U.S. For those seeking a retro-style case, there aren’t many options out there aside from the often out-of-stock SilverStone FLP01. Alternatively, SilverStone’s FARA 514X, priced at $129, is another ATX mid-tower-sized case that offers ample space and a more contemporary design.

Cooler Master MasterFrame 360 Panoramic

PC enthusiasts have been creating visually stunning systems for years, with tempered glass panels on cases being commonplace for decades. However, modern advancements have introduced unique designs such as fish-tank-style cases and curved glass corners that add a touch of flair. For those who possess exceptional building skills, Cooler Master’s MasterFrame 360 Panoramic offers an uninterrupted view into your PC case from the front and sides. Keeping your cables neat and organized is essential to fully appreciate this chassis design.

There’s a version of the MasterFrame 360 Panoramic called AK Mods X Bounce, which features a stage at the front of the case, supported by an LCD screen. This variant allows you to display your favorite action figure, be it Batman, Sephiroth, Hello Kitty, or any other, and then add an animated backdrop for them to stand in front of. We anticipate many creative modifications with this specific option. Unfortunately, Cooler Master has not disclosed the release date or price details yet.

It appears that we may need to wait for the MasterFrame 360 Panoramic, but the Cooler Master MasterFrame 700 offers a comparable way to showcase your PC. While it lacks the curved glass of the 360 Panoramic, it’s still an excellent choice. Plus, we anticipate that it will be more affordable, priced at $191.
