3 Best Movies To Watch On Netflix This Weekend (Nov 15-16)

Netflix has a lot of great movies, and I’ve picked three I think are perfect for watching this weekend. It’s November, that time of year between Halloween and Christmas, and while Netflix is already starting to offer holiday movies, I think we can save those for later and enjoy something different right now.

I’ve picked out three movies for this weekend, offering a little bit of everything. There’s a brand new animated film on Netflix that looks great, a scary movie based on a Stephen King story, and a high-energy action flick starring a major Hollywood star. Let’s dive in!

3. In Your Dreams (2025)

This Friday, November 14th, Netflix released its new animated movie, In Your Dreams. The film boasts a talented voice cast, including Simu Liu (known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Craig Robinson (The Office), and other great actors.

I just finished watching In Your Dreams on Netflix, and it’s a really sweet animated movie! It follows Stevie and Elliot, a brother and sister, who venture into their dream world on a mission to find The Sandman. They believe he can grant wishes and maybe, just maybe, help save their parents’ marriage. It’s definitely an emotional story, but in a way that the whole family can enjoy together.

As of today, In Your Dreams has an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating generally positive reviews from critics. The film is an enjoyable adventure, and its humor works well, such as the character Elliot’s passion for magic. The playful relationship between Elliot and his often-frustrated sister adds a lot of charm to the story.

2. Firestarter (2022)

If you’re in the mood for something spooky on Netflix, I suggest checking out a lesser-known Stephen King adaptation. It’s been a while since Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein came out, and with so many good King adaptations this year, this one is worth revisiting.

I really enjoyed several recent films! Among my favorites from 2025 are The Long Walk and It: Welcome to Derry, which does a great job of building on the It story. If you’re looking for something currently in theaters, Glen Powell’s The Running Man is a thrilling choice. And if you’re staying in and watching Netflix, I recommend checking out the 2022 adaptation of Firestarter.

In the movie Firestarter, Zac Efron plays Andy McGee, a man with telepathic powers. He’s trying to protect his daughter, Charlie (played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong), who can control fire but struggles with outbursts. They’re on the run from a dangerous group. Currently, Firestarter is the 7th most popular movie on Netflix in the US.

1. San Andreas (2015)

To wrap up our Netflix weekend recommendations, let’s finish with a classic action movie. If you’re planning to watch Firestarter with Zac Efron, you might also enjoy San Andreas, which stars his Baywatch co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddario.

The movie centers around a major earthquake caused by movement in the San Andreas Fault, which devastates California. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson plays Ray Gaines, a helicopter rescue pilot, who is separated from his wife, Emma, but they must work together to save their daughter, Blake (played by Daddario), amidst the chaos.

The film San Andreas combines thrilling disaster action with a heartfelt family story. It was a major success in theaters, earning over $474.6 million worldwide. If you’re looking to watch it, this is the last weekend to stream it on Netflix, as it will be removed on November 22nd. That makes it a perfect choice to finish out this Netflix list.
