28 Years Later reveals chilling callback to 28 Days Later

A chilling new preview for the long-awaited film “28 Years Later” by Danny Boyle has been released, and it appears this horror masterpiece will be the most terrifying movie of 2025. Moreover, it seems there’s a spine-tingling link to the original movie.

Without much surprise, the forthcoming horror film serves as a continuation of both “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later,” set three decades following the outbreak of the rage virus that transformed the world into a nightmare populated by swift and terrifying zombies.

The initial installment of the horror series was an outstanding work, setting a high standard that future films have to live up to. With Danny Boyle returning as director, Alex Garland taking care of the script, and intriguing previews, there’s much anticipation surrounding the upcoming film.

28 Years Later, a series I’ve been eagerly anticipating, is expanding into a trilogy! Excitingly, the second installment, titled “The Bone Temple,” is slated for release in 2026. In the meantime, a fresh trailer for the first part has just been unveiled, keeping our excitement levels high!

Additionally, the scenes feature expanded appearances of Jodie Comer as Isla, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Jamie, and Ralph Fiennes as Dr. Kelson. Towards the end, a scene unfolds revealing a deranged priest. He addresses an unseen figure, exclaiming, “Today is a magnificent day. A day of reckoning.

A horde of zombies suddenly smashed through the tinted church windows and scurried along the pews, with the priest exclaiming “Indeed, my dear ones!” This scene recalls the moment when Cillian Murphy left for a church after regaining consciousness in the initial film.

On the walls, a chilling message, “The end is frightfully near,” is scrawled in blood. He seeks refuge, but finds instead that the location is overflowing with corpses and undead creatures. It’s an intriguing reference, one of many we can eagerly anticipate given Garland and Boyle reuniting once more.

The trailer undeniably stirred up excitement among fans, with one expressing, “I’m eternally grateful to Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. A film has never, nor will it ever, excite me as much as this one does.

Someone stated, ‘This is the movie I’m most excited for this year, especially since another one I was eagerly awaiting has been temporarily delayed. I can hardly contain my excitement to see what it has to offer.’

In the upcoming movie, here’s what you can anticipate: Approximately thirty years ago, a deadly virus known as the “rage” virus was unleashed from a secret biological weapons facility. The world has been under strict quarantine ever since, but some have discovered means to survive amidst the infected population.

On a tiny island adjacent to the mainland, fortified by a solitary, well-guarded bridge, resides one band of survivors.

As a member of their group ventures from the island to explore the mysterious core of the mainland, they uncover hidden truths, marvels, and terrors that have altered not only the diseased but also other fellow survivors.
