’24’ Film in Early Development at 20th Century, Produced By Brian Grazer

As a long-time fan of “24,” I’m thrilled to hear that a film adaptation of this iconic series is in development at 20th Century Studios. The show, with its gripping storylines and tension-filled real-time format, was a game-changer when it first aired back in the late 90s and early 2000s. I remember staying up late to watch each episode unfold, on the edge of my seat as Jack Bauer (played brilliantly by Kiefer Sutherland) battled terrorists and saved the day time and time again.

Twenty-First Century Studios is reportedly working on making a movie based on the hit TV show “24,” according to insiders at EbMaster.

When I appeared on MSNBC’s “Squawk Box” back in June, I couldn’t help but share some exciting news about an upcoming project with the audience. Imagine Entertainment co-founder that I am, you know!

“Imagine has consistently produced movies with a strong likelihood of box office success. This benefits us greatly as we’ve created over 100 products and brands over the past 30 years, including ‘Backdraft,’ which I’ll be working on with Glen Powell soon, and ’24,’ an upcoming project in collaboration with Disney and Fox.”

Grazer also commented on Hollywood’s recent trend of choosing well-known IP with widespread recognition. He mentioned, “The formats from the late 90s and early 2000s hold significant value now, as studios and streaming services are increasingly cautious in their investments.”

“24,” a Fox series produced by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, aired for nine seasons from 2001 to 2014. Kiefer Sutherland portrayed Jack Bauer, a CTU agent from the fictitious U.S. government agency. The show unfolded in real time, covering 24 hours in each season. A TV film titled “Redemption” was released in 2008 as a continuation of the series.

During its tenure, the show amassed an impressive total of 68 Emmy nominations. It went on to secure a victorious 20 awards, among them being the title of Outstanding Drama Series and the Lead Actor accolade for Sutherland in the year 2006.

Currently, no specifics about the storyline have been revealed, and it’s uncertain whether Sutherland will be part of the movie cast. The representatives from 20th Century Fox chose not to provide any information on this topic.
