20th Century Lands Martin Scorsese’s Hawaii Thriller With Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt

20th Century Studios from Disney has warmly welcomed Martin Scorsese’s upcoming crime thriller set in Hawaii, which features an impressive cast including Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt. It is said that this project and its concept were initially conceived with Emily Blunt.

The writer and journalist, Nick Bilton, is set to write the screenplay for an upcoming movie that will be adapted from a book he’s co-written with Johnson, which is yet to be published.

In the 1960s and 70s of Hawaii, an influential and captivating crime lord ascends to construct the islands’ most formidable criminal empire. This character engages in a brutal conflict against mainland corporations and rival gangs, all while battling to safeguard his ancestral land. The film’s tagline reveals that it is inspired by a real-life tale, portraying a man who utilized a relentless pursuit of power to protect his homeland. This struggle for absolute power sets the stage for the last significant American mob story, where the fight for cultural preservation unfolds in an unexpected setting: paradise.

The film is being produced by a team consisting of Scorsese for Sikelia Productions, Johnson for Seven Bucks Productions, DiCaprio for Appian Way Productions, Blunt for Ledbury Productions, and Bilton for True Story Productions. Dany Garcia, co-founder of Seven Bucks Productions, Lisa Frechette from Sikelia Productions, Rick Yorn and Chris Donnelly of LBI Entertainment are serving as executive producers.
