A promotional poster for the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie was revealed at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas. The poster features five of the film’s main characters and offers a clear look at the cast assembled by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. It was displayed in the Dolby Cinema lobby at Caesars Palace during the event, and the movie is scheduled for release on June 5th.
The show Masters of the Universe tells the story of Prince Adam. As a young boy, he was sent from his home planet, Eternia, to Earth to escape a terrible war.
After almost twenty years, he’s located the legendary Power Sword and is now being drawn back into a galactic battle against Skeletor, who brutally controls Eternia. The movie poster showcases this showdown with the main characters: Skeletor, He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and Cringer.
Masters of the Universe Shows off Its Main Characters
Skeletor (Jared Leto)

Skeletor immediately stands out on the movie poster. His skull-like face, framed by a hood, dominates the background behind the heroes, establishing him as the main villain of Eternia. Jared Leto plays Skeletor, and his look – a white skull, deep hood, and glowing red eyes – stays true to the original character design. Director Travis Knight has described Skeletor’s intimidating presence, and the poster effectively conveys that sense of menace.
Okay, let me tell you about Skeletor. This villain is seriously creepy – a truly disfigured warlock who’s basically taken over Eternia with an iron fist. He’s the driving force behind everything, you see. He’s the reason young Prince Adam had to leave in the first place, and ultimately, he’s the reason Adam has to return and embrace his fate. It’s a classic hero’s journey, but Skeletor is a fantastic antagonist who makes it all happen.
He-Man/Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine)

The poster features He-Man riding Cringer, positioned prominently in the center. Actor Nicholas Galitzine portrays Prince Adam, who the movie initially shows as an office worker before he’s called back to Eternia by the Power Sword. The poster’s armor is clearly from Eternia, a stark contrast to the pink shirt Galitzine wears in scenes set on Earth.
Actor Galitzine considers this role his most important yet, and the dramatic physical change visible in the promotional posters demonstrates the dedication of the filmmakers. The character’s iconic look – complete with full armor and long blond hair – is directly inspired by the original Mattel He-Man toys, though the story itself is fresh and original.
Teela (Camila Mendes)

Teela stands to He-Man’s left, fully prepared for battle. Actress Camila Mendes portrays her as the adopted daughter of Man-At-Arms and the Captain of the Royal Guard of Eternia. In the poster, she’s Adam’s combat trainer and is shown in full warrior armor, sword drawn, with a determined gaze directed at the audience.
Teela is a key character in the original Masters of the Universe series, and casting Madelaine Mendes – known for her role in Riverdale – adds an exciting layer to the character as she prepares to appear in live-action.
Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba)

Man-At-Arms, played by Idris Elba, completes the team of heroic warriors featured on the poster. He’s positioned to the right and is fully equipped with tactical gear, reflecting his character’s role as Teela’s adoptive father and a skilled fighter who uses a variety of weapons and gadgets. The poster clearly shows this with detailed armor and equipment covering his body.
Man-At-Arms is a seasoned veteran, having been involved in this conflict long before Adam’s return. Elba is predicted to bring the necessary depth and mystery to the character. He’s known for portraying knowledgeable and complex figures in shows like The Wire and Luther, and in the Thor movies – essentially building his career on roles where he understands the inner workings of an organization. Because of this, he’s expected to excel in this part.
Cringer/Battle Cat

Battle Cat, He-Man’s armored tiger and ride, is a major focus of the poster. He dominates the lower center, depicted as a powerfully built figure covered in thick, red armor and a menacing helmet. The poster indicates this version of the character will be strong and action-packed.
The classic character Cringer, a timid tiger who becomes the brave Battle Cat with He-Man’s help, appears in the new movie. Trailers suggest the film will explore both sides of his personality, and a line about “talking tigers” indicates he’ll have a voice and distinct character. The famous Castle Grayskull is also visible in the movie’s promotional poster. Masters of the Universe looks promising, but it remains to be seen whether it will be a success.

The new movie Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, Aaron and Adam Nee, and David Callaham, will be in theaters on June 5th.
