As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about the upcoming Spider-Noir series! It’s hitting MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video in 2026, and what’s cool is they’ve cast four actors who’ve already been part of the Marvel universe. This show will finally bring Nicholas Cage’s version of Spider-Noir to live-action – you might remember him from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It’s set in the 1930s, in a completely different version of reality, which sounds amazing!
While Nicholas Cage’s role in Into the Spider-Verse has generated buzz, he isn’t the only familiar face joining the live-action Spider-Noir series. A total of four actors who have previously appeared in Marvel projects – including those both inside and outside the main Marvel Cinematic Universe – have been cast.
The series will feature several new faces to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Brendan Gleeson, known for his role as Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter films, Lamorne Morris from New Girl, and Li Jun Li, who starred in Quantico.
All Four Spider-Noir Actors Who Have Been in Other Marvel Projects
Nicholas Cage
When Sony Pictures Television announced the Spider-Noir series, they confirmed that Nicholas Cage would reprise his role as the character. Cage first played Spider-Noir in the animated film Into the Spider-Verse, where he debuted as the quiet, serious hero.
People often talk about Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir, but I always remember he actually first jumped into the Marvel world way back in 2007 and 2011 with the Ghost Rider films. Honestly, those weren’t the most popular adaptations – they didn’t quite capture the magic of the character, even though Ghost Rider is a classic!
Over time, some fans have become more accepting of the two Ghost Rider movies, and Nicolas Cage’s acting in them was typical of many comic book movie performances from that era – very exaggerated. However, his voice work in Into the Spider-Verse was well-received, so fans are optimistic about his role as Spider-Noir in the upcoming series, where he’ll play a struggling private detective.
There are also reports that Nicolas Cage might be back for the next animated Spider-Verse movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Abraham Popoola
Abraham Popoola is joining the cast of Spider-Noir, making it his third project with Marvel. He’s previously appeared as Dag in The Marvels and Ryan in Morbius, meaning he’ll have played three different characters within the Marvel universe.
Dag played a SABER agent in The Marvels and had a significant presence throughout the movie. He also appeared in Morbius, but his role as Ryan, the head of a counterfeiting ring, was much smaller and he wasn’t in many scenes.
In Spider-Noir, actor Popoola will play a veteran of World War I. According to a July 2024 report from Deadline, his character is focused on improving his situation, though it’s currently unknown how many episodes he’ll be in.
Amy Aquino
Amy Aquino is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after first appearing in the 2021 Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She played Christina Raynor, a former Marine and the therapist who helped Bucky Barnes, and appeared in three episodes of the show.
While details about Isabella Aquino’s character in Spider-Noir are still under wraps, news of her joining the series first surfaced on Deadline in February 2025. It has been confirmed that she will play a character who appears in several episodes, so viewers can look forward to seeing her throughout the series.
Michael Kostroff
Michael Kostroff joins Nicolas Cage, Yetide Badaki, and Isabela Aquino in Spider-Noir. He’s the fourth and last cast member with previous experience in a Marvel project. Kostroff previously played Noah Burstein in Netflix’s Luke Cage, where his character, a doctor and scientist at Seagate Prison, was responsible for giving Luke Cage his superpowers. He appeared in four episodes of the series.
Similar to Amy Aquino, the exact nature of Michael Kostroff’s role in Spider-Noir hasn’t been announced yet. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll be a recurring character, meaning he’ll appear in several episodes.
