2026 Release Window Rumored for New Live-Action Spidey Series

According to a recent update by Nexus Point News, we now have an estimated timeline for the upcoming live-action Spider-Man series starring Nicholas Cage as Spider-Man Noir.

Based on the latest update, it appears that the unnamed Spider-Man Noir series will debut on MGM+ at the beginning of 2026.

The standalone Spider-Man series by Cage was initially unveiled in February 2023; however, it encountered several challenges before making it to the screens.

The project faced a pause during the writers’ and actors’ strikes back in 2024, but filming started anew in August of the same year. Unfortunately, it was further postponed due to wildfires affecting Los Angeles, California, early in 2025. However, it eventually picked up again and concluded in March.

What to Expect from Live-Action Spider-Man Noir Series

It has been confirmed that Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as the live-action character from “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” This time around, his hero, along with the universe he inhabits, will have the spotlight in the upcoming film, expected to release in 2027 under the title “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

In a different reality set in 1930s New York City, we’ll see an older Spider-Man, now functioning as a detective, portrayed by Cage. As he grapples with his past, this new interpretation promises the same intense emotional depth that he brought to his animated roles. Notably, the film will heavily employ the noir style of storytelling.

In addition, the show will introduce Lamorne Morris playing the character of Robbie Robertson, a seasoned Daily Bugle journalist, and Brendan Gleeson taking on a yet-unrevealed New York crime lord.

For the first time, fans will get to witness Spider-Man in an era other than modern times, offering a chance to showcase Cage’s Peter Parker as a detective in 1930s New York. Adding a dose of superpowered adversaries to this historical backdrop promises a unique and exciting addition to the Spider-Man legend.

For the moment, spectators can anticipate that “Spider-Man Noir” will likely hit screens as early as 2026, and its arrival is expected to start the new year with a bang for the superhero category.
