1991 PC-9801 release of classic action RPG Fray gets EGG Console Switch port on July 3

D4 Enterprise announced plans to include the classic action RPG game “Fray,” originally released in 1991 for PC-9801, in their lineup for the Nintendo Switch console. The game will be available globally, and it’s set to launch on July 3rd, priced at approximately $7.16, with Japanese as the language option.

As a dedicated fan, I’d like to clarify that the very same game has been adapted to run on contemporary Windows PCs through the EGG Project. This update includes both the PC-9801 version and the original MSX2 release from back in December 1990.

As a gamer, I’ve discovered that the main character of this game, Fray, hails from the Xak series. The first two instalments of this series are playable on Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately, the final chapter, which concludes the trilogy, is currently only accessible through EGG Project PC in its PC Engine and PC-9801 versions.
