D4 Enterprise has recently made available a Windows 10 and 11 compatible version of the 1988 PC-9801 release of “Warning,” which they’ve distributed through Project EGG. This game, a renowned Japanese strategy RPG, comes with an intriguing space trading management aspect.
The character assumes command of a spacecraft with a trading function, concurrently tasked with locating their lost sibling named Billy. Joining them in this venture will be the crew members: Thomas, affectionately known as “Tom,” serving as the navigator, and Tina, stationed at the ship’s bridge as the operator.
In this game, there are 32 different types of space-trading containers at your disposal. By successfully trading these interstellar goods, ensuring you have enough fuel for the journey, and making a profit, you can invest in upgrading your spaceship and recruiting a team of mobile mechanical units to fend off unexpected enemy attacks.
Just like other classic Japanese PC games, Warning was released in various forms as well. Earlier versions of this game were published by D4 Enterprise, who had previously adapted it for the PC-8801mkIISR, a version that came out in December 1987, and the X68000, which hit the shelves in December 1988.
The official gameplay trailer and screenshots for the Project EGG adaptation of the PC-9801 edition of Warning are available just underneath.
This version aims to maintain the original game’s essence while making it accessible on modern platforms, ensuring a faithful yet enjoyable experience for fans of the classic horror adventure game.
