D4 Enterprise announced that they’ve made the retro RPG game “Arks Road,” originally for the PC-8801, accessible on modern Windows PCs using their Project EGG platform. The game is free to download, but there’s a condition – players need an active subscription with the EGG Project, which costs 550 yen per month.
Just wanted to clarify that Arks Road was originally developed by Winkysoft, a company that was famously involved with the Super Robot Wars series until their bankruptcy in 2016. Notably, Arks Road was one of their initial projects released way back in 1985, predating their work on the Super Robot Wars series which began in 1991.
As an avid gamer, I can’t help but sing the praises of Ark’s Road for its intricate character creation process that offers not just class and spell assignments, but also a unique Alignment system. This feature sets it apart by labeling characters as Good, Neutral, or Evil, and surprisingly, characters with conflicting alignments might find themselves unable to join my party. What a captivating twist!
