Recently, the team behind Battlefield 6 described their new game as gritty and realistic. However, the first season didn’t live up to that promise, and many players reacted negatively, even calling for a boycott. Battlefield 6 is beginning to resemble Call of Duty, despite initial claims that it would offer a different experience.
Will it not get any better?
What changes did the game developers make that frustrated players? They added a Battle Royale mode that longtime fans didn’t like, bright and flashy character designs, and a new map that felt too small. They also included matches similar to Counter-Strike and, like many games today, a battle pass system.
Many fans feel the game is trying too hard to copy what’s popular in other shooting games, and that goes against what made Battlefield unique. This has led to a lot of frustration, with some players losing hope for the future of the series. They say the game was at its best just 18 days ago and are now giving up on it.
Many fans feel let down, especially since they’d been cautioning others about pre-ordering the game. Despite a promising reveal and a playable beta, their concerns eased – only to discover that EA seemingly misrepresented the final product, selling players a version of Battlefield they didn’t deliver.
I really feel for anyone who started gaming after Steam and the current online systems became popular. They missed out on how amazing Battlefield 2 was when it first came out. It was incredibly exciting, challenging – there weren’t many assists – and featured massive, diverse maps. You played with six-person squads, and the commander role was a real, player-controlled position (or you were stuck waiting a round to join!). Being able to switch teams mid-game and the helpful ping system, combined with a solid user interface, all made it a fantastic experience.
I really wish the developers who used to add great features to the game were still in charge, instead of the ones who keep removing things and making it too simple.

They kept it grounded long enough for the refund eligibility to expire.

Honestly, everyone was hoping for something new and exciting, but it feels like things are actually getting worse, not better. The developers are really going to have to step up their game next season if they want us players to start trusting them again.
