100-year-old great-grandma goes viral revealing her fitness routine at the gym

A woman celebrating her 100th birthday is gaining attention online for sharing her easy-to-follow fitness routine, which she credits with helping her stay healthy and energetic.

I was so inspired by this woman I saw online! Her name is Ruth Lemay, and she’s from Virginia Beach. Someone posted a video of her on Instagram – the ‘evrydayclub’ account – and it went viral. She’s 100 years old, and she just finished a three-mile bike ride! But the best part? She casually said she could do another 30 minutes, and then planned to *walk* a mile afterwards! It’s amazing to see someone so active and energetic at that age.

She shared that she prioritizes her health by eating plenty of vegetables and getting to bed around 9:30 each night. Since retiring, she’s made a habit of walking four miles daily and really enjoys it.

100-year-old’s healthy lifestyle goes viral

I couldn’t believe how quickly that video of Lemay went viral – millions of views! But her story is even more amazing than just what we saw. I just read an interview with her daughter, Annette Parker, and it turns out 78-year-old Lemay isn’t just physically active, she’s got a really vibrant life overall!

Parker described her as extremely outgoing, saying people often pull over just to chat with her. He joked that she probably spends more time talking than walking, but he thought that was perfectly fine.

Parker explained that after having her for so long, they’ve fallen into a comfortable routine where they do everything together, and she’s always been mindful of what she eats and maintains a healthy diet.

Lemay allows herself one small pleasure each week: after getting her hair done, she enjoys two hot dogs topped with chili and onions. “It’s my weekly reward,” she said, smiling.

She credits part of her lifestyle to her husband, to whom she was married for 56 years.

She fondly remembered him telling her to take the dog for a walk while he prepared dinner. ‘It was such a lovely moment,’ she recalled.

At 100 years old, she’s become a role model for many by showing that staying active and healthy is possible at any age. Her daily routine includes exercise, good sleep, a nutritious diet, and staying connected with others.
