Certain characters seem like they’d fit better in other games. Despite being well-loved and appearing in successful titles, it’s easy to imagine them belonging to a different series altogether.
You know, playing different games, I’ve realized some characters just fit better in other worlds. Like, Nero from Devil May Cry? He’d be right at home in Kingdom Hearts, honestly. And sometimes I think Duke Nukem could’ve actually been a more interesting lead in Doom than the Doomguy. It just goes to show, the most memorable characters aren’t always the ones you’d expect – they’re often the ones who feel a little… offbeat.
Nero from Devil May Cry Feels Like a Kingdom Hearts Character
Nero first appeared in Devil May Cry 4 as the new lead character, and he quickly became a fan favorite. However, his skills might be even more suited for another action-packed game like Kingdom Hearts.
Nero’s fighting style, abilities, and calm personality would be a great fit for the world of Disney fairy tales. Because Dante is such a popular character, Nero hasn’t had the chance to truly become a star in the Devil May Cry games. However, in Kingdom Hearts, Nero could be a cool, contrasting character and possibly become a fan favorite in that unique blend of Disney and anime.
Frank From Dead Rising Would Be Better in Left 4 Dead
Frank was the first hero in the Dead Rising series, and he’s a much more quirky character than those who came after, like Chuck and Nick. Some players felt his personality made the original game less frightening. While it would be fun to see him return, perhaps Frank would be a better fit in a different game altogether.
Frank would be a great fit for the world of Left 4 Dead, and his personality would complement the game’s team-based action. He’d stand out alongside established characters like Zoey and Bill, especially when facing the game’s more challenging enemies. Balancing his strong personality with three other survivors would create a really fun dynamic.
Lee & Clementine Could Have Starred in The Last of Us Part II
Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 1 was a huge hit with both fans and gamers. The characters of Lee and Clementine were particularly memorable, not just within that season, but throughout Telltale’s games. However, the popularity of Ellie and Joel from The Last of Us eventually became much greater, eclipsing the fanbase of Telltale’s point-and-click adventures.
The sequel sparked considerable controversy, and fans continue to debate the choices made with Ellie and Joel’s story. Introducing another couple, like Lee and Clementine, could have eased some of the negative reaction. Their relationship could have provided a heartwarming subplot that resonated with the core themes of the series.
Coach from Left 4 Dead 2 Could’ve Worked in GTA V
Coach, the most memorable character from Left 4 Dead 2, is strong enough to lead his own game. However, the zombie setting doesn’t quite match his upbeat and relaxed personality. Exploring Coach in a different type of game could help us understand his character even better.
Okay, so usually in Grand Theft Auto I’m playing as some seriously messed up criminal, someone totally disconnected from normal life. But imagine dropping a character like Coach into Liberty City? He’d really stand out. Honestly, compared to the usual dark protagonists, Coach could be exactly the fresh start the series needs. I mean, a regular, out-of-shape gym teacher trying to figure things out after something huge happens? That could be a seriously fun open-world story to explore.
John Marston from Red Dead Redemption Belongs in the Fallout Universe
Red Dead Redemption II captivated players with its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, who many consider more compelling than John Marston from the first game. Marston is a classic, stoic hero, reminiscent of Clint Eastwood, and felt right at home in the simpler story of the original Red Dead. However, Arthur Morgan’s complexity was a better fit for the richer, more nuanced world of the sequel.
John Marston would be a great addition to the Fallout universe, another open-world series inspired by the Old West. The Undead Nightmare expansion for Red Dead Redemption proved he thrives in unusual, post-apocalyptic settings. His tough, direct personality would fit right in with the Fallout Wasteland, and a cameo in Fallout 5 could be fantastic.
Duke Nukem Should Take Over the Doom Franchise
The Duke Nukem series is frequently compared to Doom. While many enjoy Duke Nukem, the games haven’t maintained lasting popularity in the ever-changing video game industry. Doom, on the other hand, remains popular with dedicated players, but its focus on action over story and a less developed main character can make it less appealing to those who prefer a stronger narrative experience.
A great solution would be to combine what makes both Doom and Duke Nukem successful: Doom‘s compelling story and fun gameplay with Duke Nukem‘s confident character and unique style. Featuring Duke Nukem as the main character in a Doom game could make both franchises even more popular and potentially reach a wider audience, similar to Halo or Call of Duty.
Kratos Should Star in a Devil May Cry Game
Today, God of War is considered one of the best major video game franchises, but it originally aimed to be similar to Devil May Cry. When the Devil May Cry series slowed down, Kratos could have easily taken over as the main character, potentially even starring in Devil May Cry 4 and revitalizing the whole franchise.
Kratos, with his powerful abilities and brutal fighting style, would have been a fantastic addition to the world of Devil May Cry. The game’s complex combat and difficult levels would have played well against Kratos’s raw strength, offering a different experience than Dante’s gun-focused moves. Incorporating Greek mythology and Kratos’s intense anger towards the gods could have created a fresh and exciting direction for the series that fans would have really enjoyed.
Nathan Drake from Uncharted Belongs in a Star Wars Game
Nathan Drake, the popular hero from the Uncharted video game series, has become a well-known figure in pop culture – he’s even been mentioned in big movies like Star Trek. Many fans see similarities between Drake’s charming, witty personality and characters like Han Solo or Lando Calrissian, making him a natural fit for the world of Star Wars.
I always thought Drake would be perfect as a kind of adventurous treasure hunter in the Star Wars universe, especially with the Empire in charge! It makes sense, right? Both Star Wars and Indiana Jones were created by George Lucas, so they share a similar vibe. I think putting Uncharted and Indiana Jones together in that way could actually be fun and make the comparisons feel less forced, and more like a knowing wink to fans.
Alan Wake Feels Like a Resident Evil Character
The Alan Wake series has gained a loyal fanbase thanks to its unique flashlight mechanics and stories reminiscent of Stephen King. However, despite its popularity, some feel the series hasn’t fully established itself as a major, ongoing franchise – evidenced by the long wait between games. Many believe Alan Wake’s strengths could be even more impactful if integrated into an existing, well-known series.
As a huge fan of both Resident Evil and Alan Wake, I think bringing Alan into the Resident Evil universe would be amazing! We’ve seen Jill, Chris, and Leon handle horror, but Alan’s perspective – the way his nightmares shape reality – would be something totally new for the series. Imagine exploring a creepy mansion or abandoned town through his eyes! It would not only give Alan Wake a bigger spotlight but also help Resident Evil continue to innovate and stay fresh in the survival horror space. It just feels like a perfect fit!
Trevor from GTA V Would Wreak Havoc On the Fallout Wasteland
Trevor would feel right at home in the world of Grand Theft Auto, and the series wouldn’t be what it is without him. However, the setting of Fallout might actually be an even better fit. His wild personality would be perfect for a memorable campaign in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Similar to the quirky side missions in Grand Theft Auto V, Trevor could be a character like the Ghoul from the Fallout TV series – a tough, experienced survivor famous for his dangerous adventures. Introducing a beloved character like Trevor into the Fallout universe would likely make the show even more memorable and popular.
