10 Unanswered MCU Questions Daredevil: Born Again S2 Must Address

In the culmination of its inaugural season on Disney+, the champions of Daredevil: Born Again find themselves in a challenging predicament as the Kingpin has reclaimed his dominion over New York City. The mayor has enforced martial law and has a squad dedicated to capturing vigilantes, making life difficult for our heroes.

In spite of these challenging situations, he remains hopeful about this power struggle. He’s confident that he can reclaim his city. Yet, as he readies himself to gather allies, there are numerous unanswered questions that the upcoming Season 2 needs to address.

Daredevil’s Friends Could Be Hiding or Fighting Police Brutality

In the latest developments, Fisk appears to be extorting politicians, assassinating officials, and devising a scheme with his spouse, Vanessa, to establish their own exclusive government in Red Hook port. One can’t help but ponder where the Defenders have vanished to. When Fisk covertly shuts off power within the city so his troops can hunt Matt, chaos ensues as riots and excessive police force erupt. The second season of Born Again needs to swiftly disclose the whereabouts of characters such as Jessica Jones, Danny Rand, and Colleen Wing (Iron Fist).

It was generally assumed that Matt would gather his friends at Josie’s Bar. Some might have had good reasons for not showing up, like needing rest after saving innocents from riot-related harm. The location of Luke Cage is particularly significant since he’s in charge of the Harlem cartel. This makes him a clear target when Fisk’s men decide it’s necessary to control that gang.

Kingpin May Have Wanted Future Torture

In their past, Fisk and this character share a turbulent relationship that dates back to their shared prison time. When Fisk’s henchmen capture Frank, it’s surprising because, given that Frank had been killing Fisk’s loyalists in the streets, one would assume Fisk would want him eliminated. However, this decision turns out to be unwise as it provides an opportunity for Frank to break free, which he does at the end of Season 1 of “Born Again” during the post-credits scene.

In the second season, it’s important to explain why Fisk, being a skilled tactician, would make such an unexpectedly amateurish decision. It seems as though this is done for plot convenience, ensuring that Frank survives. Perhaps Fisk intended to inflict more pain on him, but imprisoning him in a cage wasn’t a shrewd move for a relentless force like him.

Jack Duquesne Might Have Vigilante Blood Boiling

Kingpin keeps Jack Duquesne captive within a cage, hinting at his potential escape. Fans are intrigued to discover if he’ll follow the path of his comic book alter-ego, the Swordsman. After all, he demonstrated those skills in the Hawkeye series.

Instead of assisting Matt directly, Jack could lend his expertise to Matt’s law firm. This move could expose more details about Kingpin’s blackmail schemes, contributing to the dismantling of Fisk’s elite criminal circle in Hell’s Kitchen. Such a strategy would add an interesting twist, as Jack may possess valuable insights into the broader network of white collar crime in the area.

Angela May Want Vengeance For Hector Ayala

In the first season of “Born Again”, young Angela del Toro undergoes a profoundly distressing event. Her uncle, who is also her mentor, came dangerously close to taking her life. Later, Angela begins carrying Hector’s chain adorned with an amulet that holds great significance for him.

It’s intriguing to ponder whether she is preserving the memento as a symbol of her family heritage, or if she plans to modify the attire and embody a White Tiger character, similar to the comics. If it’s the latter scenario, Matt would strongly disapprove of a friend, particularly a teenager, getting entangled in this conflict.

Bullseye Might Want to Atone and Help Daredevil

He posed as a threat. After serving time for murdering Foggy Nelson, he escaped confinement to kill Vanessa. By the end of the season, he harbored bitterness over how the Fisk family had exploited and cast aside him.

In the second season of “Born Again,” Bullseye could potentially transform into a complex character, leaning towards an anti-hero. However, his path to redemption may prove challenging given his past atrocities. Yet, just like how Negan from “The Walking Dead” managed to make amends, albeit slowly, Bullseye might achieve enough penance if he manages to bring down the Kingpin’s empire. If the Marvel Cinematic Universe chooses this narrative, it should be handled delicately, considering Bullseye has been responsible for numerous innocent deaths.

Sheila Is Feeling Guilty Over Siding With an Oppressor

Sheila plays a crucial role in Fisk’s advisory board, offering guidance to the mayor on numerous matters. However, once she discovers that her betrayal resulted in Commissioner Gallo’s shocking, astonishing demise, remorse will take hold of her. Currently, Sheila is terrified and eager to appease the imposing Fisk. Yet, if Daredevil and his associates can win her over, she could offer documents, testimonies, and much more valuable information.

Sheila is weeping, acknowledging that she recognizes her mistake. The second season will delve into whether she has the courage to betray her cruel supervisor. It’s important to note that Sheila isn’t inherently evil; however, she understands that both her job and life are on the line. This situation promises to generate a lot of tension and suspense, particularly since Daniel, a vicious individual, has been elevated to be her peer.

Buck Won’t Tolerate Daniel’s Mistakes

In the first season of “Born Again,” Buck plays a significant role as Fisk’s trusted lieutenant. His work primarily involves political maneuvering within the office environment. However, he doesn’t shy away from eliminating adversaries, as demonstrated with Luca. At present, he is associated with the bold and youthful Daniel, who exudes an aura reminiscent of a young Kingpin. Viewers are intrigued to see if their characters will harmonize well together.

Buck prefers orderliness and discipline, yet Daniel occasionally makes mistakes, like the time he revealed secrets to BB Urich at a gathering. It seems possible that Buck could serve as Daniel’s guardian, playfully warning him that he might be the one to punish him if his recklessness jeopardizes the mayor’s affairs. Some spectators are pondering whether Daniel’s drive will ultimately prove his downfall, given that Buck has little patience for foolishness.

Karen and Punisher May Realize They Need Love Amid the Chaos

Returned to the city. She requested that Frank assist in guarding Matt, but instead, the Punisher abandoned them and was imprisoned. However, with Frank now released, speculation arises as to whether he will reunite with Karen and Daredevil, or acknowledge any unsparked romantic feelings.

It appears that Daredevil intuits this situation. This topic might be explored in Frank’s upcoming special. However, the second season of “Born Again” could potentially offer them a contented conclusion. They share a strong bond and have faced numerous challenges together. Given all they’ve been through, it seems fitting that they should experience some tranquility, even if their current disagreement over the policy of killing criminals remains unresolved.

Spider-Man Could Be Fighting Corrupt Police

The ruler has imposed a citywide curfew to manage traffic. Given the circumstances, it’s likely that his henchmen and those of Vanessa will engage in illicit activities during these hours. With such martial law in place, people are eager to see how this will affect Spider-Man. Since no one knows that Peter Parker is the web-slinger, he might find comfort in continuing his vigilante work in New York City by apprehending criminals and potentially corrupt officers under the cover of darkness.

Kamala Khan plays a role in interactions. However, the series “Born Again” doesn’t touch upon Matt being Peter’s lawyer in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. It would be ideal for Peter to make a cameo in “Born Again” Season 2 to address Kingpin’s regime as the next Spider-Man movie might have a more complex plot. Linking the shows together like this adds depth, making them feel more expansive.

Matt Should Have Sent Her the Port Crimes

In the storyline, actress Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn) is collaborating with Fisk on a mental health undertaking. This plot twist diverges slightly from established lore, leading us to wonder: has Matt Murdock shared information about Wilson Fisk’s past criminal activities as Kingpin with Heather? While it might be saved for Season 2, considering Matt had provided his law firm with details about Kingpin’s illegal port initiative, it seems plausible that he could have also informed or shown those documents to Heather.

1) The intricate bond between them is teetering on a knife’s edge, with her well-being hanging in the same precarious state. On the other hand, there are suspicions that she might be an informant within this oppressive system. Despite this, Matt and Heather appear deeply in love, leading fans to hope they can resolve their issues through open dialogue and rekindle their soulmate connection before Fisk exploits her or holds her captive. In the end, everyone is hoping she avoids being caught up in the impending chaos and destruction.
