Having grown up watching some of these iconic moments unfold, it would be a dream come true to relive them in NBA 2K25.
In advance of NBA 2K25’s release on September 6, there are several enticing features proposed for this installment of the popular basketball simulation game. These include Connected MyCareer mode, a revival of the Olympics and representing Team USA, and the possibility of experiencing the Bill Russell Era in MyNBA. Nevertheless, as we anticipate NBA 2K25’s arrival, let us not forget about ten historically significant teams deserving of inclusion:
NBA 2K25 Needs To Consider Adding These 10 Historic Teams
10. 2009-10 Charlotte Bobcats
In the 2009-10 NBA season, the Charlotte Bobcats, known for their modest fan base, showcased impressive skills and earned a place among basketball history’s great teams in NBA 2K25. With a solid record of 44 wins and 38 losses under Head Coach Larry Brown, they secured the 7th position in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Notable players on this team included Tyson Chandler, an NBA Champion, All-Star, Defensive Player of the Year, and two-time All-Defensive Second Team member. Chandler’s defensive prowess was a significant asset to the team. Additionally, D.J. As a passionate Raptors fan, I’d rephrase it this way: Last season, our beloved team averaged 102.7 points per game, ranking us 14th in the league. However, what truly set us apart was our impressive offensive rating of 110, which placed us fifth best in the NBA. Known for our tenacious defense, we held opponents to a meager 98.2 points per game, securing us the third-best defensive record in the league. Our defensive rating stood strong at an admirable 105.2. Moreover, we boasted an impressive net rating of +4.8, which was the fifth-best in the league. Despite having one of the most successful seasons in franchise history, Toronto unfortunately fell short of securing the championship title. We faced LeBron James and the formidable Cleveland Cavaliers in our first-ever Conference Finals appearance, marking the start of what is now affectionately known as the ‘LeBronto era.’
5. 2012-13 Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets of the 2012-13 NBA season, which holds the record for the most wins in the franchise’s history with 57-25, might be a team that current NBA fans are not familiar with anymore. This team, led by Head Coach George Karl, managed to secure the third seed despite not having a clear superstar on their roster. Andre Iguodala, a four-time NBA champion, Finals MVP, and one-time All-Star, was one of the key players alongside Kenneth Faried, JaVale McGee, Corey Brewer, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, and Ty Lawson, who averaged 16.7 points per game and served as the team’s top scorer.
Despite their top scorer only managing 16.7 points per game on average, one might assume that the Nuggets had a hard time putting points on the board. However, this assumption would be incorrect. In fact, the Nuggets boasted the best offense in the league with an average of 106.1 points per game and a fourth-best offensive rating of 110.4. Unfortunately, their defense took a hit, ranking 23rd in the league, allowing opponents 101.1 points per game with a defensive rating of 105.1. The Nuggets’ impressive net rating of +5.3 placed them fifth best overall. Regrettably, despite their balanced team performance, the absence of a star player proved detrimental in their first-round playoff loss to the Golden State Warriors, who defeated them in six games.
4. 2014-15 Atlanta Hawks
The 2014-15 Atlanta Hawks is one of the most forgotten teams in NBA history. The 2015 Hawks finished with a franchise-best 60-22 record under Head Coach Mike Budenholzer, securing the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference.
