10 Characters We Want to See in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

As a long-time Dragon Ball fan, I’ve seen it all – from King Vegeta’s tragic leadership to Nuova Shenron’s unexpected honor, and even the chaotic fusion that created Super 17. Each character brings a unique flavor to the universe, making the series rich and diverse.

In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, which initially launched with over 180 playable characters, there’s speculation that additional ones may be added through downloadable content (DLC). To determine potential candidates for these new additions, we analyzed the rosters of both Sparking Zero and Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Here are ten characters we hope to see as DLC in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero:

10 Characters We Want to See in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

1. Demon King Piccolo – 10 Characters we want to see in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

Among all the potential characters that could join Sparking Zero’s roster, I’m yearning to see Demon King Piccolo the most. He’s not just one of the coolest villains in Dragon Ball, but his presence opens up a world of possibilities for fascinating encounters. Imagine the thrill of watching Demon King Piccolo square off against Super Goku or even Piccolo after he fused with Kami! That would be epic!

Furthermore, in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Demon King Piccolo had a pretty impressive array of moves. One of his Super abilities allowed him to summon the mutated Namekian, Drum. As a Namekian, Demon King Piccolo has the ability to stretch his arms, making it intriguing to watch during battles. Including Demon King Piccolo in the game would also increase the variety of Dragon Ball characters available.

2. General Blue – 10 Characters we want to see in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

Continuing the trend of notable Dragon Ball villains, General Blue is another iconic character who merits inclusion in our roster. Serving as a general within the Red Ribbon Army, he possesses Psychic Powers, making him quite distinctive among other characters. His move-set in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 further solidified his uniqueness. With the Red Ribbon Army needing more representatives and Commander Red not being a combatant himself, General Blue would be an ideal choice to enrich our roster for Dragon Ball characters.

3. Android 8 – 10 Characters we want to see in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

It’d be fantastic to witness the benevolent Android companion of Goku in Sparking Zero! Imagine if Android 17, hailing from Dragon Ball Z, crossed paths with Android 8. How would interactions between other Androids unfold, or perhaps the formidable foe Cell?

Apart from his role in the What-If scenarios, Android 8 was also an outstanding character in his own right. He’s among the rare smart villains who didn’t cross swords with Goku. Instead, this compassionate Android assisted Goku and others during the Dragon Ball storyline. It’s always beneficial to have another Android around, and Eighter fits that bill perfectly.

4. Grandpa Gohan – 10 Characters we want to see in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

It’s notable that a crucial character from Goku’s early years seems absent from the Sparking Zero lineup. This character is pivotal in the Dragon Ball series as without Gohan, the outcome for Goku might have been different. Even though Grandpa Gohan had fewer appearances compared to other major characters, his influence was substantial.

Goku’s son was given a name that paid tribute to him. During his youth, Gohan sported a cap adorned with a four-star orb. This ornamental orb held great sentimental value as it reminded many of the early Dragon Ball series and even parts of Dragon Ball Z, of Grandpa Gohan.

Indeed, considering everything we’ve discussed, it seems fitting to include Gohan in our lineup. His distinctive dialogues and character interactions are something to look forward to. Moreover, despite his aged appearance, he has the ability to deliver quite a powerful blow.

5. General Tao & Cyborg Tao – 10 Characters we want to see in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero DLC

Another character from Dragon Ball, Tao, seems worthy of inclusion in the game’s roster. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Dragon Ball-themed DLC pack was announced soon. However, let’s focus on Tao for now – this skilled assassin is known for his unique ability to kill General Blue using nothing but his own tongue.

In the Dragon Ball series, Tao was a formidable antagonist who gave Son Goku quite a challenge. As the sibling of Master Shen, Tao possessed potent abilities such as Dodon Ray, and even managed to overpower Goku during their initial encounter. However, it was ultimately Goku who emerged victorious in their battle. Later on, Tao transformed into Cyborg Tao.

It’s intriguing to imagine how Tao would respond to Goku, particularly given his current Ultra Instinct state. Witnessing this transformation might have a significant impact on the Cyborg. Regardless, there’s a lot of excitement about seeing more Dragon Ball characters, and Tao is definitely one we’d like to see more of.

6. Pikkon

The Other World Saga is one of the coolest filler arcs in Dragon Ball Z. It also features Pikkon, a powerful character who can best even Cell and Frieza. This fighter from the West Quadrant of the Universe also helped Goku fight Janemba in the DBZ movie, Fusion Reborn. From a design standpoint, he’s essentially Piccolo 2.0, minus the stretchy limbs and with a few spots on his head.

Pikkon is one of those characters who I wish was canon. Sure, he didn’t appear in the original manga, but that shouldn’t prevent him from joining the Sparking Zero roster. He’s a powerful ally with a cool design and interesting move-set. He might not have as many interesting interactions as the characters above, but that. won’t stop us from recommending him.

7. King Vegeta

Despite not being as well-known as Goku’s father, Vegeta’s dad plays a crucial role in the story. Known as the King, he was instrumental during the Saiyan-Tuffle civil war that spanned over a decade. It was his leadership that earned their planet the name “Planet Vegeta.” However, when they realized they couldn’t withstand Frieza’s power, King Vegeta was forced to submit allegiance to him.

Consider this: Instead of immediately attacking Frieza, as many other leaders might have done, Vegeta’s actions – even though they resulted in the destruction of his planet and temporary defeat – played a crucial role in the long-term demise of Frieza. Eventually, it was Kakarot who defeated Frieza, thus protecting the universe. So, in a way, we can say that Vegeta’s circumstances indirectly paved the path for this outcome.

Apart from speculation, it’s worth noting that Vegeta would be an excellent fit for the Sparking Zero team. I’m eager to witness his dynamic with his offspring and other Saiyans such as Goku and Bardock. In essence, given his status as the King of all Saiyans, he would undeniably enhance the roster if included.

8. Nuova Shenron

In my gaming world, the epic battle against the villains in Dragon Ball GT’s Shadow Dragon Arc is unmatched! Each of these dragons, born from wishes cast throughout the series, showcases an ingenious twist on storytelling. Among them, Nuova Shenron, forged when King Piccolo wished to regain his youth, stands out as a formidable foe.

In contrast to many antagonists I’ve encountered, New Shenron proved to be a noble adversary. During my battle with both Goku and Pan, New Shenron incapacitated Pan, but chose to leave her alive instead of ending her life. This act of mercy left Goku deeply appreciative towards the Dragon, and eventually, we found ourselves working together.

It wouldn’t hurt to have more GT Characters in Sparking Zero, and Nuova Shenron would be a great fit for the roster.

9. Super 17

Combining two Android 17 units sounds preposterous, yet the final product resembles a sinister villain with immense power. Frankly, the Super 17 storyline felt rather hurried and lacked coherence. In a collaboration between Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero, they constructed a new Android 17 to merge with the one already present on Earth. As a result of their union, they formed an entity more powerful than Dr. Gero’s ultimate creation, Cell.

Setting aside doubts about his origin, Super 17 certainly appears impressive. It’s intriguing to contemplate how he would interact with Android 17 from the original series. Moreover, being an Android himself, he brings another energy-absorbing character into the team. On paper, Super 17 might seem confusing, but he promises an exciting gaming experience.

10. Pilaf Machine

To wrap up, it’s only fair to bring up the Greatest of All Time among Dragon Ball characters – the Pilaf Machine. Now, humor aside, Emperor Pilaf is indeed an old-timer in the Dragon Ball villain roster. Despite not being particularly powerful, intelligent, or coordinated, that’s what makes him special!

Including the Pilaf Machine in the game also brings the witty banter between Shu, Mai (Pilaf’s loyal assistants) and Goku, adding a comedic touch to the game. Moreover, the Pilaf Machine enriches the game’s collection of major characters, as it currently has few large characters besides the two apes and Hirudegarn.

In summary, these are the ten characters we’re most excited about potentially joining the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero cast. While this list represents our top picks, it’s important to note that there are numerous other characters we’d love to see join the game as well.
