007 First Light Trailer Reveals The First-Ever James Bond Origin Story

At Sony’s State of Play broadcast, IO Interactive unveiled the debut trailer for their highly anticipated James Bond title, 007: First Light. This action-packed adventure will be available on PlayStation 5 in the year 2026.

This is the very first account of the franchise, delving into the character’s past before he transformed into the renowned superspy that everyone recognizes now.

In the game ‘007 First Light‘, Bond is presented in an unprecedented manner – as a younger version of the agent you’re accustomed to from the days of tuxedos and martinis. At just 26 years old, this Bond is not yet the seasoned 007 we’re familiar with, but rather a man who trusts his instincts, occasionally taking risks, and is still honing his skills on when to engage in combat, when to bluff, and when to fade into the background,” as stated by IO Interactive.

When we meet him, Bond is a Navy air crewman who joins MI6 after an “audacious act of bravery.”

The combination of his innate abilities, intuition, intelligence, and compassion will help him evolve into a seasoned secret agent. This is an entirely unique tale, created jointly with Amazon MGM Studios, as the developer explained.

Similar to the James Bond films, the First Light game takes players on a global journey, visiting various destinations such as chilly mountain ranges and tropical coastlines. Characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny, who are well-known in the series, will make appearances as well.

In addition to existing characters, you’ll encounter new ones such as Greenway, Bond’s mentor within the story, who will attempt to instruct him on the methods endorsed for MI6 agents. IO Interactive revealed this. The gameplay will be diverse, combining intense battles, high-speed driving, stealth, and advanced tools. This will allow you to fully engage in a world brimming with deceit and peril, all brought to life by our own Glacier engine.

First Light is coming to PS5 in 2026, and it will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro to run at 60fps.
