🚨 Blockchain Blunder: Fixed! (Sort Of…)

Oh joy, oh rapture! Conflux, the layer-1 platform that’s apparently still a thing 🤔, has finally patched that pesky CREATE2 Opcode vulnerability with their super-exciting version 2.5 network upgrade 🎉. I mean, who doesn’t love a good security fix, am I right? 😒

So, ” And then, on March 17, 2025, they were all, “Problem solved! ( Upgrade to v2.5, folks!)”

“In the standard Ethereum Virtual Machine…” *yawn*… Oh, sorry, what was I saying? Oh right, the Conflux team explained it thusly: “…the previous implementation of Conflux allowed CREATE2 to redeploy contracts at an address with an existing contract, resetting the contract state to its initial deployment state.” Translation: They messed up, now it’s fixed 🙅‍♂️.

According to Conflux (and we all trust them implicitly, don’t we? 🙃), the security issue is now resolved. The flaw, which “allowed contract redeployment on existing addresses, impacting Gnosis Safe” (whatever that means 🤷‍♂️), is no more! The Conflux Network security team gives you their word: “All user funds are safe” 🙏. Whew, what a relief! 😌

Fun facts:
* Node operators were asked to update, because, you know, security 📝.
* The hard fork happened at epoch 118580000 (for those keeping track at home 📊).
* GraFun got a cool 60,000 Conflux tokens for their trouble (about… *checks current token value* …a nice dinner for two? 🍴).

In conclusion, all’s well that ends well in the wild world of blockchain security 🌈. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have more exciting things to attend to… like watching paint dry 🎨.
