Well, well, well, would you look at that? After a solid month of being in the doghouse, those spot Bitcoin ETFs finally had a day worth remembering on Monday. It was their best day since February 4, with money pouring in like it was going out of style.
But don’t go breaking out the champagne just yet, because those spot Ethereum ETFs are still in the dumps, stretching their losing streak to a solid nine days. Ouch!
Now, the spot BTC ETFs had a real hootenanny going at the start of 2024 and into 2025. But then ol’ Trump had to go and shake things up with his tariffs, and folks got spooked about inflation or stagflation or some such malarkey. Since February 5, only seven out of 28 trading days have been worth a hill of beans.
Last week was a real doozy, with over $800 million vanishing like a ghost in the night, according to FarSide’s numbers. But lo and behold, Monday rolled around and investors chucked in a cool $274.6 million. It was a sight for sore eyes, I tell you what.
Fidelity’s FBTC was the big winner, raking in $127.3 million. Ark Invest’s ARKB and BlackRock’s IBIT followed suit, with $88.5 million and $42.3 million, respectively. And guess what? Not a single spot BTC ETF had any withdrawals worth mentioning, not even Grayscale’s.
BTC’s price took a little jump toward $85,000, but it got tackled and driven back down below $83,000 by the time this story hit the presses.
As for the Ethereum ETFs, well, they’re still in the soup. Nine straight days of withdrawals, and only a piddly little net inflow on March 4 to show for it. The funds tracking Ethereum have bled out $663.2 million since February 20.
Even on that bright Monday for BTC ETFs, the Ethereum folks saw a minor net outflow of $7.3 million, all from Grayscale’s ETHE. ETH‘s price has taken a beating, down over 30% since February. It can’t seem to climb back over the $2,000 line and keeps floundering below it.
